I wanted to put up some suggestions outside the realm of the inadequacies of turret transport and survivability. Things that might make them a bit more useful without the fear of making them OP (laugh).

By in large drop or modify the current toolbelt skills gained from turrets. For instance, surprise shot, rocket, throw napalm, regenerating mist, etc.

Instead replace them with more defensive measures. More precisely something that mimics some elixir traits in particular cure and blindness.

My reasoning is that the offensive traits of these turrets are virtually worthless and the turret itself, especially with the overcharge, is the offensive item. Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, when you run a true full turret build you will find your self virtually strip of defenses compared to other builds making it a build very unfriendly to play outside niche circumstances.

Some specific recommendations/considerations:

1)Flame turret:
-Overcharge simply, like other turrets, increases range and dps.
-Toolbelt drop the throw napalm and replace it with a mobile smoke field, same smoke field that was originally on overcharge.
-Allow use under water.

2)Healing turret:
-Overcharge remains the same.
-Toolbelt exactly the same but carries a single cure. This would be similar to carrying elixir C though not nearly as powerful.
-Allow use under water.

3)Rocket turret:
-Overcharge remains the same.
-Toolbelt keep exactly the same but remove the ground targeting requirement.

4)Rifle turret:
-Remains the same but some possible ideas below…
-Toolbelt ideas, pick one:
— “cannon round” = knockback
— “confusion round” = some sort of confusion
— “glue artillery” = drops a slow down region like glue bomb.

5)Thumper turret:
-No changes.

6)Net turret:
-No changes.

I like this a lot, I’m using a turret/firearm build xD. I know most people say it sucks but i actually don’t feel it bad, obviously is underpowered but meh. It would be incredible to have all this changes you mentioned but still I’d be happy if they only reduced the time for turret deployment.

I actually like the smoke field on Flame Turret’s Overcharge, and making it so that you wouldn’t lose your toolbelt skills with Turrets active (such as by converting Detonate into a chain-skill from Overcharges in some fashion) in order to keep it accessible with a turret out would possibly be overpowered with the proposed change to Healing Turret.

Other than that, I don’t…really have an opinion on these, actually (except that it would be pretty nice to be able to use Healing Turret underwater, at the very least).

The rocket turret utility skill doesn’t need a visual on their target, and can actually arc over walls in WvW, so I think removing the ground targeting for that would remove most of the “fun” of it. Also, Mist Forming eles are no longer completely safe after getting downed outside their tower and fleeing inside the portal.

Hmm i do not totally aggree. The flame turret allow a nice blinding field, which makes it survive longer and make it able to stealth yourself while turrets do damage. Perfect isn’kitten
The healing toolbelt skill is perfect. When I am running low health and already used the turret, I can pop my water field from the toolbelt skill and create some distance with my rocket boots. Those in combination create a nice healing.
The ground targeting on Rocket Turret toolbelt skill allows you to shoot another target and make it balance with surprise shot.
I am doubting about the Rifle Turret. It applies vulnerability at the moment, but doesn’t really stack high. I might like some weakness with that.
Thumper should also be given some benefits to allies.
Net Turret is only single target. This is for me (I mostly do PvE) hard.

I also made some turret ideas several hours ago and posted that. You might take a look at it.
I like it that many people think turrets could use some changes, and not every1 thinks about major changes, but adjustin the turrets: Lovely.
