Turret question
When placed, turrets will start shooting the closest enemy in range, usually picks a target at random if there are multiple enemies but seems to start shooting at the same target you start to tough.
And pick up just means well..uhh basically destroying your current turret so your turret recharge skill recharges 25% faster. Well this games turrets…how can I say this…work quite differently compared to what you are used to in other games so be prepared for that.
And welcome to guild wars 2 then!
You cannot move turrets.
You cannot aim turrets.
You can pick up the turret or detonate the turret to put it on CD.
Turrets can be okay if used correctly but more than likely you will be a little dissapointed in them.
Try the Thumper Turret and Flame Turret for early levels they are pretty fun and if you put the thumper next to the flame turret and use the overcharges us can stealth yourself.
Thanks for the answers. Yeah, I played more last night and noticed that if I click the Turret skill again, it doesn’t “replace” it. It has an Overcharge skill. lol
No wonder I thought it was bugged! I would drop Rifle Turret down, move forward and click the skill again thinking that I can place it but instead I was using an Overcharge skill.
So picking up let it recharge faster eh? Cool.
Yeah, so far I find Flame Turret much better than Rifle. The Smoke thing is nice when the monster surrounds me and it seems Flame’s damage is higher but range is quite short. Oh well.
The best use of Turrets I have found in Pve is to use the Thumper Turret and the Healing Turret along with the Flamethrower and maybe Elixir Gun.
Using the Flame Wall from FT and Super Elixir from EG will create combo fields.
Placing and detonating turrets in combo fields will activate blast finishers.
The Thumper Turret has 3 blast finishers all by itself
-1) The Thumper Toolbelt skill
-2) The Thumper Overcharge skill
-3) Detonate the turret.
So with the Healing Turret and also the Shield skill #4 you will have 5 blast finishers at your disposal.
You can use the Flame Wall combo field to stack might or if there is range you can use the Super Elixir combo field and stack retaliation.
Learning to effectively use combo fields will really up your game and in Pve it is what will allow you to kite and kill large mob groups or solo champs.
play a warrior instead you won’t regreit later on, as for turrets you can pick it back up and place it else where later on with a lower cooldown.
