Hey guys,

Im kinda newbie with enginneer(have a lvl 10 one ;p), and i am literally in love with all “fire power” and complexity.

Im doing SPVP with this build:

I would like to hear some help/sugestions from experienced enginners on what could i rework here. I like the bomb kit to put good AOE pressure on enemys, and the Turrets can do their jobs. Would be more viable for me taking another tool kit? maybe changing the turrets, traits.. anything…I like to hear comments and suggestions…

Another thing, is there a good guide for turret engi’s? Rotations, positioning of turrets, team fight, etc?

Welp, some things about your build.
The turret AI got fixed, but is still a bit tricky to be used.
Basically they will always attack what got dmg from you the last time.
and since a pistol is a non piercing projectile with an aoe impact, your turrets will always act drunk on illusions, pets or even other turrets nearby to your target. same goes for the bombkit since its an aoe based weapon solely.
while the bombkit is fine for the fire / smoke field and BoB, I’d recommend switching from p/s to rifle. it has piercing bullets and therefore is the perfect “target marker”. also all of the rifles skills scale well with power, so you will get an dps increase.

about the stats and runes:
stay “power / toughness” but get some additional healing. I personally love runes of water with cleric / settler stats (in case of setler, go back to p/s but get the piercing bullets trait) getting me off a point is nearly impossible in tpvp 2v1 nowadays. Even if they clear all my turrets they have no option to get actual pressure on me. Even burst builds go on full cd and I still stand ( evade^^ ) there and heal myself for insane amounts.

turret placement:
your turrets are ranged and you don’t want them to get cleared that easily. You have 2 options to make them more survivable, bot implying that you go through all the turret traits in inventions.
option 1: pic accelerant packed turrets and drop them onto a elevated, hard to reach position. Hambows will hate you now
option 2: don’t pic the trait but place your turrets far off the point. If they want to clear them, they have to walk out. Most bunkers don’t have ranged options of high dps, so this is the point where hambows will hate you again.

turrets tipp 3: time your overcharges
Keep in mind that the moment you press a overcharge is not the moment it will go off. Each turrets has a regular attack chain, which is displayed in their tooltipp as rate of fire. if you activate an overcharge, this rof cd has to hit zero again before the overcharged attack goes off.
furthermore you don’t want to blindly activate them all at the same time. each overcharge has useful effects, so make sure that they go off in the optimal situation. (flameturrets f.e. should spill its smokefield when you place BoB / rocket-turret should knockdown a enemy after you have bursted him and he’s trying to heal up / a.s.o.)

Recently in tpvp I’ve been playing a triple turret build with the deployable turrets. Why deployable? Well, if your goal is for your turrets to be sustain damage, then having the detonation trait is useful..but in general it will only proc for your healing turrets. What you can do with deployable is toss the range ones in places where melee cant get. They have long range (900+) so you can really toss them places, on top of pillars, etc, that make them really hard for people to kill. On top of that, you don’t have to leave a point if bunkering to get your turrets in range. Far too often I see turret engi’s in tpvp fighting on point and putting their range turrets right on point. They die, and explode and do an annoying knock back that disturbs the player for all of ~2-3 seconds while their sustain dps is now gone. Also, a trick I’ve found is that because the throw is an “arc” you can throw your thumper turret over walls and stair cases in some cases and overcharge it before you even get to the point, clearing it for when you get there. (On temple, I swear nothing is funnier than throwing a rifle and rocket turret onto the pillars and seeing an all melee warrior jumping up and down trying to hit them!).

I think an issue with bombs is, unless your condi traited, you might be getting some better AoE damage (which you can get with rocket turret, rifle #3 and #5), but your sustain targetted damage will be much less if you swap it in favor of rifle or flame turret.

I normally run a kit bunker or powernade..but man I love running turrets recently mostly because it gets people so peeved xD
