Turrets Damage scaling
Sounds like a bug. ANet will remove condition damage scaling soon.
Doing what I can for DB during EU primetime
Well the tooltip always reflected that they scaled off condition damage, just at some point (guessing in the last couple months) they actually started scaling off it. I wouldnt know, cause i usually dont pay attention to it, but i was doing some tests near the target dummies and realized their dot ticks were changing depending on what amulet i was wearing. I did this same test in november and they were not being effected by condition damage.
So if it IS intentional, why just condition damage and not power? and if its not….“shrug”
It is intentional, it was in the january patch I believe. Healing power and condition damage both scale for turrets properly now, but yeah, odd that nothing else does. Can’t say if they’ll change it in the future or not, given turrets have been like this for ages.
Still, live and hope.
Hopefully turrets are looked at soon. I’d love to use them but weak damage and crazy long cooldowns make them so impractical.
Edit: Pre-release I kept imaging whipping out a bunch of turrets at one of the many “Defend this spot” events and holding the line… really wish that dream could become a reality in a meaningful way

The thing is they have to be balanced for sPvP. Imagine if 2 engi can hold off 5 players indefinitely.
Side note, wouldn’t it be cool to have a stealth turret. It lasts indefinitely and stealths all non stealth turrets allies in a small/med area.
Or a capacitor turret that created links to other turrets that either increase their damage or armor
Or a pylon turret permanently generates a wall (on a location selected during summoning) similar to staff guardian’s wall
Or a singularity turret that sucks foes to it and damages them on contact

What I wouldn’t give for a proper machine-gun turret… mowing people down from a wall. Yes please.
… until Anet releases specifics (20 attacks at 2 damage each), and decides that it’s OP and halves the damage. And buffs Backstab because thieves were indirectly suffering, because cheese.
Balthazar runes are broken.

I understand that this is a concern, but I think if it’s that much of a problem then they should work differently in PvP and PvE. It’s Arenanet’s responsibility to balance the game for more than just sPvP.
I’ve never played a single game of sPvP and never intend to. I like the open world. It’s extremely frustrating to be nerfed or held back from needed buffs all because of something I never do.
I have been having alot of success with Turrets in WvW. I traited for a Turret Build, using 20/00/30/00/20. Here’s what I went with
(as per the norm, simply copy and paste the link)

I find this mainly as a point defense build. For Gear stats and Weapon Sigils, I went with Crests of the Soldier, for Power, Vitality, and Toughness, as I do alot of WvW.
I like the Thumper Turret and Rocket Turret. Thumper for the Shockwave Blast Finisher when a fire field is dropped in the group. I usually swap out Rocket for Net to get that extra CC on the field. Sometimes, I will swap to Tool Kit so I can grab those goons with Magnet and pull them to me in the middle of some turrets. Couple of hits with Prybar and Auto Attack, Static Shot, then Detonate Turrets(I find that Shrapnel works more often than not. Weird, huh? XD), playing pinball.
Alternatively, you could easily use Throw Mine. Traited, I find the Knockback and Boon Strip helpful(Not as awesome as Null Field, but still useful )

Does power increase turret damage meanwhile?
