I want to use turrets, but they aren’t that much fun to use, at least for me. Had an idea last night that I wanted to share to just see what people thought of it. First off, move Kit Refinement to the Master tier and move Power Wrench to the Adept tier. The reason for this is that it allows you to very easily access either Deployable Turrets or Power Wrench with just 10 points in tools. This could also give Anet justification to buff Kit Refinement now that its a Master level trait. I understand that 20 points in tools to get even a buffed Kit Refinement might be too costly to mesh with builds, so maybe this is where my idea falls on its face, but remember this is about turrets, and the idea was to get Power Wrench at a 10 point cost.
Next we change Deployable Turrets and Power Wrench slightly. Deployable Turrets gets a simple change, not only can you deploy them as before, but if the turret survives the 20 to 50 second cool down, depending on the turret, you can pick that turret up and immediately deploy it again. Power Wrench on the other hand does what it does now, maybe nerf it a little bit because it’s now only Adept level, but now when you whack a fully healed turret, it starts to buff it. The buffs stack and last the life of the turret, and they give it more armor\health, and cause it to shoot faster and do more damage……..so yeah, just like the Team Fortress engineer, don’t judge me.
The whole idea is that these changes would easily let you define what type of turret engineer you want to be, a more mobile turret deploying engineer, or a bunkering point defense engineer.
