[Video] Glass Cannon sPvP build

You’re crazy.
I never liked glass canons a lot, but that’s personal of course.
Engineers appeal to me for the versatility, being the perfect all-rounder.
But this of course just adds to the versatility: the fact you can build a bursting critmachine on a power trip just as well…
I use the same skills as you and do quite well as a engy. Hopefully people don’t complain after seeing this video because it takes tons of skill to pull off all this kitten. Not to mention is pretty much one of the only viable builds. Plus classes like the warrior still do more damage.
You seem to have the same idea as this guy. I remembered when he posted this, much of the thread were criticisms that it would not work in sPvP or that he was beating up on glass cannons only.
Something that I noticed that differed between your play and his is your more effective grenade use. It’s a nice substitute to hoping that static discharges come off and kill a single player while not being able to fend off the rest of the team.
none of the targets killed in this video were good players. most of them were not even fighting back or fighting someone else -.-
now please post the video where the thief jumped at you with c&d, steal & backstab for all your hp in 0.2 seconds
I liked the movie, seems terribly squishy but you sure do a lot of damage!
I would probably go for a tradeoff if I went more offensive spec.
I’ve seen quite a lot of builds from Optics his video’s. Going from bust like this to elixir gun and the likes.
So I think we should discuss the build more han the player on this one.
He’s just showing that it is possible to make a glass canon this strong.
Optics, I have a little question for you: have you looked back on the tool kit yet? I know you didn’t think much of it at earlier video’s.
I found it rather good in a power build, especially to pull light armor casters to you and smack-what them to death.
Kit refinement givesyou instant nails all around for crippling, and if traited you cripple them forever, even with your ranged toolbelt skill throw wrench.
It’s also decent defense if a melee locks you down, with a block and a hard hitting skill that adds confusion.
Sort of a thing to go to once your rifle cooldowns are used and you’re sitting on top of them.
Usually one would think of bombs or grenades after the rifle, I found the tool kit to be effective too. Not too mention: something different for a change (grenades and bombs are proven winners in builds).
Just asking this here, because I’m currently testing the kit and it’s fun for me.

why going elixir H? I would prefer to get med kit so you can get nice fury on demand without blowing your stun breaker.

It’s hard to find the time to switch to a med kit with such low vitality and toughness. I didn’t try it but hypothetically I thought the med kit would cause too much damage since you’re swapping all of your defensive abilities from the rifle to heal and gain boons. I just don’t feel that you have the time with this build.

I have on numerous occasions tried to incorporate the tool kit into a build, but it just never seemed to gel.
I must admit I kept trying to put it into more defensive builds, because I saw the pull, gear shield and cripple as defensive abilities. Although smack hits hard, when I tried to actually do it without a lot of control I struggled to hit with it.
I can see the potential in it, especially if you involve it with the rifle, I have just never really analysed it before as much as I have with every other weapon kit.
I’ll look at it and get back to you on what I think.

The thing with the tool kit is: since it scales on power so much, it’s more of a defensive thing for power builds in my eyes, and not really as an extra defense for bunker builds…
Aside the obvious pairing with turrets of course, which they not only heal, but also the toolkit has many ways of keeping your target CLOSE to the turrets as well.
You’re crazy.

as a compliment, for experimenting so much with different builds. I quite like your video’s (but don(t think I’ve seen them all).
This video in particular the damage numbers are borderline insane at times.
bah quote broken for me again so: Why would you switch to anything? You get your big heal as toolbelt ability and the fury would be used preemptively before engaging. It takes literally one second.
