Now, we can apply almost every condition (only fear is not part of it).
After this patch, a whole now so hard wanted (read, never cared for) condition is put into the game and as far as it says only necro’s, thiefs and mesmers get it.

Sigh… Back to the drawing board i geus to find something new we shine in?

Pretty sure rangers also can have any condition. Even fear via some pets.

In all seriousness though… yeah, it is a bit unfair that Engineers aren’t being shown any love. I myself have a necro and engineer, and to be fair it feels like Necro are going to be given the upper hand on this one, esp. with the fact that Necro are also getting DS #5.

QFT. I think subconsciously, this is a part of the reason I love my engineer. Nerfs be kitten ed, I continue to feel that no other profession comes close to the ridiculousness of the Engineer. High skill floor? Check! Ugly hobosacks? Check! Requires attentiveness to detail and crackerjack timing? Check! As a result, I feel like a great deal of swagger is in order. I’m not in this for easy mode; I’m in this to kick donkey, take names, and chew bubble gum*.

Aesthetics:
While we felt it was reasonable for other professions to show a certain degree of exhibitionism through reliance on magic or agility rather than physical protection or, in the case of warriors, to display to their enemies that they are Just That Tough, we felt that since engineers habitually use dangerous chemicals and do not have magic to rely on for protection, they would naturally take the practical approach and ensure they always meet a certain minimum standard of protection. Thus, underwear for engineers has been modified to include a drab brown shirt and pair of pants for all races and genders.

Natural Handicap? Engis have one of the most broken builds in the game that allow them to be have some CC, apply tons of conditions, and have the ability to fight 2 foes at once and WIN, they can have both DPS and toughness. I used to consider Mesmer the most Overpowered class but in this build it’s a toss up between Engi and ranger and I’d lean Engi because Ranger isn’t as good in team fights.

PvE wise… Engineers aren’t the better class.

hybrid build* yes those exist. new flash right? about 400 condition damage makes that trait worth getting. meanwhile maintaining a mostly power build.

not sure if thief player troll or just stupid. do you know how much toughness i have to stack just to slightly mitigate a thief’s backstab? i have 1800 toughness on my engineer pal. only reason i’m able to fight them is because i’m not a 2 spammer.
you must only play with shortbow tryhard 1 spammer rangers if you can come to this kind of uneducated conclusion.

However that build is weaker in team fights. Said Engi and ranger builds are probably the best 2 in the game because they both manage to be tough while dealing good DPS. Having both Elixir S and Self-Regulating Defense means if you are a target of a spike you can have 6 seconds of immunity in addition to Gear shield and the stun/knock back of your regular shield to escape and drop down your Healing turret and detonate it for a good heal. All this while constantly applying conditions and Pry Bar for good damage. The build is such an all rounder it’s not weak to much.
