My engi just hit 80 and i need advice on runes. Im going almost full beserk with 30/30/0/0/10 vuln staking build. I was deciding between ruby orbs, scholar runes or rune of altruism. Does altruism work with heal turret and would the power tradeoff be worth it? I dont do organized dungeon runs i mostly pug it. So being perfectly meta is not a concern. I still want to deal good damage though. Any advice experienced engis?
I can’t be certain but there’s no reason why runes of altruism wouldn’t work with healing turret although the power trade off is not worth it. With the upcoming rune rework and ferocity change, superior runes of the scholar are your best option until we actually see the rune changes. Even without being able to stay above 90% hp, scholar runes are better than ruby orbs.
Altruism are nice with Med Kit because they trigger off the activation of your #6 skill. Which means that each time you equip Med Kit it can trigger unless the runes are on cooldown themselves. Healing Turret works but you’re on a 20 sec cooldown vs a 10 sec on the runes with Med Kit half as effective. Plus with Med Kit you can have almost full Fury uptime. I’d suggest running Altruism if you run Med Kit, if Turret go Orbs or Scholar.
I run Ruby Orbs and Scholar depending on the gear set.
