What is the AoE Combo Heal discussed often?

They just got rid of it, it was a water field combined with mine field blast, but it no longer works. You can still get a decent combo heal by placing a healing turret then quickly blowing it up, but its not nearly as powerful.
Do you have to use Regenerating Mist first to create the Water field? And then blow up the turret?
And follow-up question, is there a way to tell that the combo field is in effect?
Combo fields usually have an obvious marking on the ground. A colored circle, a line, wall of flame or smoke, etc. Put down the healing turret and you will see for a brief moment a circle appear. That is the combo field.
You don’t need to do anything, the turret will create its own field, and you can tell the field is in effect because it will appear as a large white ring around the turret.
NOTE: When the ring appears is not always 100% predicable because the turret can be buggy, sometimes it takes a second, and also it will disappear quickly. Try it out in town until you get the hang of it.
NOTE2: You can easily tell when you correctly detonate the turret because you will see and hear a big “water splash” effect when you blow up the turret, also you will be healed for an addition 1.2-1.5k HP

to do combos
combo field ability starts it up
combo finisher does just that.
I use my shield aoe knockback to initiate combo blast
you can do shield aoe knockback blast in a water field for aoe heal
or to do your own combo blast
use flame thrower to lay down wall of flame (mouseover is combo field)
then swap to pistol/shield then aoe knockback shield ability in the wall flame will do a huge aoe fire combo.

Use Regenerating Mists and then your Magnetic Shield. Regenerating Mists applies a 1 second long water combo field. This also applies an AOE heal.
I think combo fields is such a new ‘phenomenon’ that a lot of people are not using them properly.

My gripe is that it never has saved my butt. The 1500 heal just doesn’t seem to be enough spike healing at 80. Also the field from the turret lasts such a short time that I can’t even plan for it. I found that comboing the toolbelt heal and Shockwave was fairly reliable in combat. One tick of your weapon shooting when you intended the shield and I totally miss the field from the turret. The rangers healing spring is far more useful.
