What my Turrets should look like.
Classes are seperate from Races. The turrets you are referring to are general Asura turrets/technology.
In your case:
When an Asuran is growing up, he does learn from all other Asura about their technology, for example the turrets you have shown. What seperates you from other Asuran, is that you creature turrets in a different way of technology.
If you were to use that technology of the Asuran, you would be a regular asura, not an engineer.
;)
Exactly.
Human engineers are like very well educated humans with skills in metallurgy, mechanics, mathematics and more so they can go about making stuff like advanced turrets, intricate flamethrowers or tiny little flying machines beyond anything humans normally can build.
Asuran “engineers” are like cutesy little dumb persons, building turrets by smashing crap together with a wrench, making silly inneffective things they call weapons and flying toys a 1 year old proginy can build in their sleep.
Just face it, you wouldnt know how to calibrate the aetheromagnetic pulse field with the optimagnifying rectifier crystal to make an Asuran turret even if you got your entire krewe to do a visual presentation of the schematics.

Turrets and eng bundles should have racial skins IMO. Planty sylvari, semi-magical asura, steampunk charr. Norn, idk, stick some runes or knotwork on them; there’ll be room since they’ll be extra-large. Humans can keep the base skins since they receive 10000x more attention for every other type of graphic in the game.
doesnt matter how turrets look until they Remake turret functionality as a whole
so ask for that first

The turrets we get as Engineer currently are of Charr design… The Engineer class as a whole is largely of Charr design… I originally wanted to make an Asura Engineer… but the turrets were so jarringly out of place on an asura I just couldn’t leave her as an Asura.. Then when I went to make a Charr I found “hey Engineer could totally fit with the Charr” and so I made a Charr Engineer and as I roamed around I noticed… “hey, these Engineer Turrets are quite obviously of Charr design”

I was going to say… from a lore perspective, the engineer class comes from the Charr. So technically all the turrets are Charr in design.
The other thing is that engineers (as a whole) use mechanical apparatuses, not magical ones. Asuran turrets use entirely different underlying mechanics (they are magical in nature, not mechanical).
Rifle turret should look like a chain gun (mini gun with rotating barrels) and not that water spout we currently have.

I don’t know, I find the water spout appearance to most closely represent how powerful the thing actually is.

LOL well can’t argue with that
