What’s the name of the skill this guy is using?
It looks a lot like a Guardian’s Wall of Reflection.

It’s “Toss Elixir U” it’s an RNG skill that gives either a “Wall Of Reflection” or a projectile destroying “Smoke Screen”.

Yep, as the rest pointed out, we have access to thief’s wall or guardian’s wall thanks to that skill, Elixir u was a very unpopular choice plenty of patches ago, until recently it has seen some value on this skill.

So yeah, expect to see more of this, if the player its not playing meta scrapper.

I very much doubt we’ll see much more of it. It has its uses yes but elixirs by their nature still suffer one massive flaw in PvP – they are so bloody random.

Imagine if black powder on thief had a 50% chance to dump a smoke field or a light field. I mean it would be hilarious but we’d be deaf from wailing thieves.

RNG will never work.

is it that bad tough?, the rng is pretty much the type of field, the wall still makes the job of avoid the projectiles regardless of the outcome..

I don’t think it is “that bad”. It still has a wrong approach, that robs control from the player, becoming both inferior to other alternatives and harder to truly balance. RNG is always poor approach for combat mechanics, even more in PvP.

I agree, but at the same time it’s kinda nice. WoR is a better anit-projectile tool, but smoke screen gives a smoke field that you can leap/blast for stealth. So, basically even if they made it 100% either way I’d feel like I lost something even if it was a luck based something :/

As for the skill in general I use it in WvW now and then. It’s not a primary choice but 10s+ of quickness is not bad (70% boon duration in my build, I love those new utility foods).
