Okay was just fooling around with my engi in spvp and realized that elixir S was double nerfed…. I knew that they took away the ability to heal while small.. but you are no longer invulnerable… you evade attacks instead. So hit it when you have conditions on you and watch your health drop and be helpless to do anything about it… AWESOME…. sad panda

Oh its awful now. I die every time I come out of it using Self Regulating Defenses. I’d change the thread title broski!

Yet another example of how they’re new focus is to break as many things on an already broken class as they can in a misguided attempt of getting players to use something else.

The buffs on bosses and the healing skills not actually being affected by +healing weren’t bad enough now they have to remove what few protections players had.

Personally, I still use Elixir S to prevent damage from being applied to me. It also prevents conditions from getting to you AND it’s an elixir which means with Cleansing formula it removes 1 condition.

Still pretty useful in my eyes.

Elixir S has always been an evade not invulnerable. It has never stopped conditions from ticking. We just used to be able to cleanse while in S, now you better cleanse before popping it.

Yeah, just spend 20-30 trait points and it’s great! If you don’t want to put points into the Alchemy trait line use another stun breaker, like…Elixir R…OK, well then how about Elixir U, it’s a stun…hmmm. It’s also bugged. You could always use Rocket Boots…but that has a self CC component. You should just use Utility Goggles. Yeah, there you go. See, everything is fine. No pigeon holing going on here. Nope.

…none at all

The big problem with this nerf is not elixir s itself. The real problem is Self-Regulating Defenses, where before you had a good way to counter bursts, now you’ll get a sure death when this trait pops up.

Well, I didn’t use it much before, now I’m sure as hell to not use it at all haha.

On the whole Evade/Invulnerability, I was.. pretty certain that before the nerf we were ‘Invulnerable’, even if the tooltip specified we were ‘Evading’.

This. Stop making nerfs out to be worse than they are.

As far as I know no invulnerability stops existing conditions from ticking (and if it does I’d like a refund on my Mesmer, because he must be defunct). That sounds like a Cleansing Formula 409 effect, which should trigger upon use since Elixir S is, know you, an elixir.

I continue to get the “invulnerability” message, and it prevents all incoming attacks exactly like it’s supposed to.

Invlun never stops conditions from ticking. For another example, if a guardian uses renewed focus, they will still go down if conditions tick them down.

The only thing that gets conditions off of you is something that specifically removes/cleanses them. Invuln doesn’t stop them.
