So I’m about to pick up my 2nd ascended item, from guild commendations. I already have an all-stat amulet. I thought all-stat would be the best since I benefit from all the stats, and I can use it in every build. It also has more stats in total than the others. Should I get another all-stat(accessory)? I’m using a confusion bomb build atm trying to get both some power and condition damage, while keeping my toughness at acceptable levels.

What did you pick for your engineer?

I think full Celestial gear is really only worth it for Guardians.

I have Syzygy as my amulet, but I went with Althea’s Ashes + Magister’s Field Journal for my accessories … and I’ll probably get Fierceshot’s Arrowhead and Marriner’s Flask too. I think you have to have some specialization in your gear.

It’s really not much to worry about, since I already get like 5 Commendations a week from Guild Missions—and we don’t have Puzzle unlocked yet. Wouldn’t hurt to buy a ton of them depending on whether or not Engineer is your main.

I too am thinking about doing the all stat accessories for my engi. Mainly due to the fact there just seems like so many different builds to play around with. I’ll prolly settle on some grenade build and was planning on doing WvW, so the extra survivability would be helpful. Any thoughts from someone with more experience?

Yeah, go with all stats. If the nerfs continue when a good build shows up on the forums, it’s hard to see whether power, condi, or tank will be best for us in a couple months.

If you’re going Condition Damage, at least in PvE, you have to go all-out Condition Damage otherwise your stuff is going to be overwritten by other people in your group.

You have to roll with Rabid stat jewelry like Marriner’s Flask.

I have gotten all out on my condition damage, since I decided that’s what I find the most fun, so I went for the Rabid stuff, gonna get the ones with all stats the next time ^^

I’ve been getting Soldier’s. Power, toughness, and vitality are all pretty important in WvW no matter the build.

In pve, for my accessories I have been using celestial; since I carry lots of different types of armors, celestial accessories still compliment me no matter what I use plus engies en up using all stats. And having overall slightly higher stats doesn’t hurt either.

I’ll probably get some apothecary stat items. I think the trinket are the karka shell and the passiflower one. The exotics with the apothecary stats are just too prohibitive because of their cost, but the trinkets are all the same price so that’s a good way to get them.

I’ve also gone with the condi damage/tough/vit + condi damage/tough/prec ones. Would’ve preferred extra vit instead of precision since I use a defensive build, but that’s the only stat combos focusing on condi damage, toughness, and vitality.

I haven’t really like those all-stat items much, but I haven’t really given them a fair try yet. My builds tend to be a bit more focused in certain areas though, so I’m not sure they’ll really be a good fit.

I have a few pieces of Soldier’s for WvW and/or tanky builds. I also have a few pieces of and really like the “NA/Rabid” configuration that gives Condition damage/Vitality/Toughness on top and Rabid stats on bottom.
