Which dungeon gear should I use?
Nobody can give me a hand?
Do you think you could expand a little more on your Grenades build? Like what other skills your using? I think that could help me better understand what kind of stat boosts would be best.
Also, are you thinking this gear will be for PvE, WvW, more dungeon running, something else?
Good luck on your adventures,
Z
I’ll try to help out! I would get the gear from CoF, since although I dislike the dungeon itself, it’s the faster and easier way to get Berserkers gear. If CoF dungeon gear also includes the Power/ Prec/ Condition Damage, thats the way I would personally go, because many (I think all) of the grenade skills have conditions attached to them. Finally, back to dungeons. CoF is easier, yes, but CoE has the runes that give precision and a kitten-ly awesome golem if you get all 6 pieces with the golem runes. (which is if you decide to run the Power/ Prec/ Crit). Also, CoE is more fun to run, requires more skill, and has better story line and graphics imo.
Im running 30 explosives, 30 firearms and 10 alchemy atm. using Healing Turret, Elixir B and R, Supply Crate and double pistols.
I wanted to know wether should I go for the CoE or CoF rune, and should I go for Power/Prec/Cond or Power/Prec/Crit
This is PvE focused, dungeons.
Given you use p/p, condition damage is probably worth more to you than crit damage. Assuming I can math and words correctly, you get 16% crit damage or 224 condition damage. That means your bleed gets 11 extra damage a tick, burning gets 56 a tick, poison 22 a tick, and confusion gets an extra 33 damage an attack.
It’s difficult to do a perfect damage comparison, but since you don’t have the 30% crit damage from tools and you have 300 condition along with 30% longer duration, condition damage will likely give you more damage in the long run.
As for runes, baelfire (cof) would likely be more beneficial, though there are still better runes out there for condition (4 afflicted and 2 krait give 30% increased bleed and 15% increased poison duration, which means higher uptime and more damage).
I think berserkers is better for this build. I find hybrid of power and condition damage is a good way to go with grenade builds, you already have 300 condition damage in trait line- I say that is enough.
One reason why is because in dungeon, you will find that most builds stack condition regardless, so there is always a threshold of how much condition you do. You can’t go wrong with power and crit damage, I find the crit rate sweetspot for nades is 45% and over.
I use to run a 30/30/0/0/10 build with nades and I always find myself getting all the aggro in dungeons because of the amounts of crits I would do.

Hmm… I couldn’t tell you for sure. In my opinion, 1500 range is a license to go full glass cannon. I use full Berserkers, but I wouldn’t be shocked if it turned out that Rampager gave similar DPS. But I don’t think any set featuring a non-dps stat is in the same league as Berserker or Rampager in terms of dps. And they are the only pure dps sets.
Regarding Rampager though, the Precision is the primary and the Power and Cond are the secondary stats. I think Precision without +Crit Damage is for classes that proc a lot of things on crit. Engineers have some proc-on-crit things (Incendiary Powder and Sharpshooter), but not as much as Necro for example. Is it enough to warrant a Precision-primary set without +Crit on Engineer? I honestly don’t know, but that’s how I would frame it in my mind.
I’m happy with my Berserkers. If I felt I needed to mix in some Vitality or Toughness, it might open up the possibility of sets with stronger Condition itemization. Also, if I felt I could increase my DPS by throwing on some defensive stats and changing my playstyle to getting up closer (for example to Prybar or Flamethrower or point blank Grenade or Pistol 4 or Rifle 3), that would be a possibility as well. But like I said, I’m happy with Berserkers for what I run (FotM 30’s and CoF farms).
