Engineer is now the only 80 I don’t have, so I’m a bit curious about you engineers. Having played <2 hours on engineer total (tested in HOTM) it’s safe to say my knowledge about engi is pretty much nil. I’m a PVE player, so I’m interested in some PVE perspective from those who main engineer

EDIT: Also, since I know nothing about engi gameplay/rotations, anyone have a handy vid of some (relevant) power engi gameplay? Would be interested to see what it plays like compared to my other toons

I love engi nonstop play, the gameplay of keeping using skill, skill, skill, to the next skill, dont mess your rotation!, i really like it, its sastysfing to use many skills and deal tons of damage at the same time

In short, engineers..

1. Have good condi and power build diversity. Very good survivability due to access of stability, condi cleanse, and stun breakers.
2. Are the masters of CC, bar none.
3. Is a member of the Goonies.
4. Best long range AOE & ground targeting spam abilities (Mortar, Grenades).
5. AOE Moa Trollimorph, which is superior to the Mesmer’s single target polymorph.
6. Have higher IQ than other professions that failed in math and sciences.
7. Scarlet Briar was an engineer.
8. Best loot tagging in the game (better than guard loot stick).
9. Cheap to maintain because we don’t have legendary kits or skins to work towards.
10. Only class that can swing a wrench or pry bar at you.

Don’t have videos to show you, but like all professions you just need to play it to get a feel for it. It’s been my primary class since the beginning because I love his play style. Other classes are fun to play and have unique abilities, but when things get messy my Engineer always comes out on top.

I know it’s childish although it’s awesome watching some bosses charge up their big breakbar (bb) attacks and you go BOOM with your overpowered shot and deal masive bb damage

I love the engi versatility. I can play my engi in many different ways and be very efficient at it. Condi dps, zerg tag, solo overland high mobility, power dmg… anything really.

I love the engi style. I get to play as this really smart person that adapts all sorts of technology to help overcome challenges and explode things. Lots of explosions! When playing my riffle engi with granades and bombs I feel like an advance field unit, blowing things up across the battlefield.

Seeing the warriors and guardians scraping Teq/Claw fingernails with their shinny swords is almost comical to me. I much rather shoot it down with plasma grenades and mortar shells.

Story characters don’t take you for stupid if you are an engineer.

Out of all the classes, and I have each, Engi is the most fun, hands down. And that’s why I want/like to play.
Sure, Necro and Rev are loved in raids and junk but what it comes down to really is fun and on Engi I have that. Took forever and rolling each class to find that out but I have arrived!!! Boom, boom shakalakalaka boom!

-Frantic gameplay that never lets you slack, if you seek to play it at a high level.

In general, no other class is as fun to play to me as an Engineer.

You should have added a “dropped mic” at the end!

Engie is just too engaging and fun. BUT, you need access to all the skills first. Don’t judge Engie until you got all skills unlocked.
