My dream is to one day patch up to a 15% autoattack damage increase and blast finisher on Flame Blast.

Stop teasing us ANet, FT is the coolest weapon in the game, please kick it up a bit…

Blood~

P.S. I would like a Chainsaw Kit to go with this. You gave us zombies, we need the proper tools to combat this…

It should. Plain & simple. We have so many blast finishers that to say making Flame Blast one would be OP just sounds ludicrous.

And yes, autoattack needs a small damage boost.

@Blood: Chainsaw…I approve. Zombies must be dispatched with a fitting weapon.

For the same reason that Explosive Shot doesn’t count as an ‘explosion’ for traits. Engineers are too good for logic.

I really don’t think it would be OP, compare to guardian hammer skill 2 Mighty Blow

And while you’re at it, make Smoke Vent a smoke field too.

More than flameblast I could see it on FT5 which is propably the weapon skill with the smallest kittening influence on the game ever.

Well, that skill is basically a placeholder – in origin, we had a skill called backdraft.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Backdraft_
It was replaced, along with the change to juggernaut – it gave stability and 200 toughness while you were in the kit, but as a drawback the movement speed was halved – due to pvp.
And that’s also the reason why, unlike any other weapon, the last skill hasn’t got an higher cooldown than the fourth one.

Speaking of backdraft did they ever give a reason as to why it was changed?
Also I think its time #5 gets changed to something useful.

Well they didn’t want so much control on a single kit (push and pull) and they wanted to make toolkit better at the same time.

There would be many options to improve Smoke Vent:

  • blast finisher
  • smoke ticks multiple times (like 3 times in secon intervals)
  • stunbreak (you can swap into kit while stunned)
  • short duration smoke field

They just have to chose one.

I can’t remember but I’m pretty sure they said it was too powerful to have a push and a pull on the same bar, and I can’t find anything about it in the patch notes. The earliest one has the Juggernaut changes. And I do specifically remember them saying Smoke Vent was a ‘placeholder’ until they could come up with something better.

When did Backdraft get removed? In beta? Almost a year and a half ago
