Why on Tyria can't Engineer repair Siege in WvW
I always kind of felt like this should be natural to the class as well. Kind of how you can use the toolkit to repair turrets. Apply the same thing to siege weapons but require supply.
With perma swiftness available to run the supplies and this it could be useful in a number of situations and especially due to the supply requirement I don’t see this being unbalancing at all. Especially considering everyone can repair walls/gates etc.. as it is.
LOL really?! wow someone dropped the ball on that one. Even in other games that had engineer as a crafting skillset rather then a class had items that would repair or easily more quickly destroy seige machines in pvp games like this.
Engineer as a profession might get a big boost to being wanted in situations like this if their abilities in their kits effected seige machines in this manner.
Every profession needs some manner of being unique and required in WvW. Right now a Thief can bring lasting group Stealth to allow team to bypass defenses and get behind siege and take out it’s operators. Mesmer’s can portal their entire server from one location to another, and even bypass walls and doors if left inside a keep/tower after it has been re-fortified after a siege. Guardian’s can put up shields to protect an entire server from ranged damage, or protect siege equipment from taking damage.
So why? Why can’t Engineer do what Engineers do and use the supply they have on them to repair siege equipment on the field? It could even cost double or triple the original building cost to fully repair it (as in the amount of health on the siege repaired per supply). Engineer desperately needs something to stand out in WvW something to make them unique and desired by guilds.
RIGHT?! This would actually make engineers use the toolkit besides in static shock burst builds. I think this would be freakin awesome, and would really make engineers even more of an asset during sieges. It would give those who dont want to use grenades as much value as those who are focusing on dps.

Mulcibur Nox – Ele / Mr Directed – Mes
It might be worth noting that some other professions can infact repair the siege. Very slowly, and through the use of aoe-health regen i believe it was the elementalist that had some way and the guardian. Altough it seems more like a bug with siege not intented to be repaired.
At first i wondered about it too, and thought it would give Engineer an incredible niché in WvW and that this would be unfair to other classes. Then i played a lot of WvW and saw:
-Mesmers, and only mesmers having the ability to bypass defenses with Teleport. Aswell as moving Siege Golems around very fast, and giving Siege Timewarp.
-Thieves contesting areas for very, VERY, long times through their power of Stealth.
-Guardians breaking up zergs, or protecting zergs with loads of powerful area control abilities. And protections.
-Elementalist being able to AoE down a lot of siege with their powerful large-radius AoE + Being able to protect siege/walls from other siege with Swirling Winds. And being the single best profession to harras from Walls as they can always get to safety if they get downed.
With so many, quite unique and powerful abilities, i must say “Why not?”. Would it be anymore gamebreaking then a Mesmer teleporting a whole zerg into the keeplords room? Or a Guardian holding off an entire Zerg with his area denial-shields? Or a (group) of Elementalist effectively negating the effects of trebbing?
I think not. It could be a very slow process or require supply to do. The notion that a profession designed around the concept of being a master tinkerer and builder cannot repair a pretty rudimentary arrowcart (compared to the highly complex Elixirgun) is ofcourse laughable.
An interesting concept that i could see working. Perhaps if engineers were able to carry twice the amount of supplies?
So far, my engineer only seems good for weak keep defence with mortar, or shooting through walls with flamethrowers flame jet. Although i did outfit my gear with runes of the centaur, and when paired with medkit i can effectively give small groups of people near perm swiftness (it’s great for running supplies and getting reinforcements to places quicker)
I’ll have to call you out on group stealth. Engineer has great group stealth. Try running bomb kit with healing turret, rifle turret and net turret and a sheild if you use p/s. I can easily stack 12 seconds of stealth on a 5 man group through all those blast combos. It’s also on a low cooldown of 35-40 seconds depending on how quick you are to set up the combo. You are also able to move during those 12 seconds and arn’t confined to a selected area.
