Will we get fair testing?
That’s just how the cookie crumbles I guess. One profession is going to be revealed last and unless they reveal every elite specialization before the BWEs this was going to happen. It’s a shame, but hey. That just means we need to go ham on the engi elite when it comes out.
Internal testing just can’t compare to the sample size of the playbase. It’s a problem that’s always going to be there. :/
Nope

sadly from how far release is in October we most likely only getting 1 beta testing for Forge.
That is hardly enough time to properly test it but that is the price for Anet revealing each Elite Specialization separately.
If its not ai crap iam happy anyways ….

BAHAHAHA! Fair testing… dont make me laugh. One beta weekend and waiting months for re- balance and fixes. Thats the way they do the engi stuff
Engi is a great profession, I expect it to still be great and forge to be decent at worst, but the amount of bugs that are piling up are a bit troublesome, and htat’s simply lack of time, something we will be plagued with here as well. But, again, I’m sure we’ll be fine.
From the other side, engineer is always the class that gets loads of impacting bugs.
They might have been working on forge for quite some time so less bugs might appear…
Just trying to be positive about it 0:)

That’s the problem, though. It’s the huge numer of players that find the bugs, too. So by leaving Forge til last it will have the least bug fixes at launch, the least found bugs, and the least balancing of skills. Just look at the huge amount f work that beta testing has allowed for other classes. Reaper shouts have been changed, cast times removed completely, whole different mobs attached to RISE! the Great Sword has been completely rebalanced and thanks to this weekend, it’ll be further refined and bug-fixes can be worked on/ identified with the skills that were altered in the last phase of editing.
Forge is pretty much screwed. But then, it’s still in arguably a better place than the ranger spec. Druid will also only have 1 bwe, and it’s the class with arguably the most to gain or lose from alteration to it’s and lets be fair, godawful class mechanic that was just a huge oversight and tremendous blunder in planning. I mean seriously, an Ai pet that can’t dodge or block in a game where dodging and blocking, as well as other active defences, are key to survival? What genius thought that this would be a good idea? Never mind the fact that the ranger damage coefficient is reduced to balance the damage from the pet.
Anyway, you get my point.
1 beta weekend for any class is absurd. Especially when those classes potentially have the most work to balance (and bug-fix) them.
Engi never gets testing so it all stays as it is

It depends on if you believe they saved the ones for last that they felt most comfortable with releasing. If you think that is true, and you think they did a really good job on Daredevil, I wouldn’t be concerned. If you don’t agree with either of those two assumptions then I think it makes sense to be a little worried about how the Forge will be.
Maybe we’ll see it this week!

I hope we get some better condi removal. I am so sick of being owned by one condi because we have so few condi removals

This ! +1

Technically you can work around that with Alchemy. It might suck that it is the only decent way to get removal, but that’s the price to pay if you want to partially nullify one of the classes’ weakness. I see Forge more like a frontline bruiser with party-wide utilities than a condi-cleanser (not saying it won’t have one skill for condi clear, tho).
I would like something like whenever you apply regen you will remove one condition.

In the trait overhaul they mentioned we are like the master of blasts. So what if blasting a field also removes a condition? Would make tank builds better since you can combine it with soothing detonation.
Back to topic, yes we will have disadventage, but hey… devs did give us back bomb radius for example. They do listen, so I do faith in them
They could release HoT without Forge
Positive scenario: after the semi-debacle with the 6-23 patch, ANet decided to thoroughly go over the engineer class, abilities, traits and their interactions, not only to make amends for the last missed rework, but also to ensure it does not repeat with HoT.
Negative scenario: since the engineer is about the least popular class, most of the problems introduced with the 6-23 still lie unsolved. The work (on the engi) for HoT is in an early state at best, and every dev threatened to be assigned to this task finds ways to dodge or procrastinate, to avoid opening this idiomatic can of worms.
Middle ground: It’s just an unpopular, relatively complicated class, so it comes last (and least).
Pet project: Outfit overhaul.
I’d just like a magnet that actually works.

Also we get Hammers.

Not a chance we’ll get enough testing. I wouldn’t be surprised if at the launch of HoT the most bugridden and unbalanced elite specs will be Forge and Druid, while Chrono and DH will be near flawless.
