You know I understand that It’s a big business running the corrections for so many bugs and I understand that the team is busy, but it would be really nice if we actually got ETA’s or answers to the problems engineers have been facing since BWE3. Like the FT/EG/Blowtorch miss problem. Here it is months later, and still no word on the long laundry list of problems we face in this profession. I’ve been watching the Dev tracker for weeks now and NEVER see anything beyond that initial interest in the list of our bugs and problems in this profession.

Apparently, If we were playing other professions we’d receive an answer to our problems. It’s kind of a slap in the face really.

Attached is what the Engineer’s posts look like every time i come here looking for something anything that would allow me to enjoy my profession once more, It’s straight up annoying when things don’t work properly in game..

Last dev post on these forums was 2 months ago.

Agreed. I haven’t played much at all the last month and a half, waiting for them to fix the things that annoy me about my Engineer.

I took my time exploring, doing events, and generally enjoying the experience up to 80 as an engineer, but didn’t enjoy constantly zerging everything so I quit playing for a bit. Sure, I noticed the (many) bugs of the class along the way, but attributed it to symptoms of every new MMO. I’d come to the forums to see if anyone had an idea for a workaround or just to get ideas for a new build not using that skill. ArenaNet was pumping out bug fixes on a regular basis so they’ll get worked out soon, right?

A decent list of fixes every week turned into small lists, then every other week, then just billing mainenance, then … content patch! I see a healthy chunk of text under the Engineer section so I get excited. That excitement fades pretty quickly as I read through the changes and realized there wasn’t a lot of substance to them, but hey, it’s progress, right?

Back to the waiting game I guess, maybe I’ll have a reason to be excited by January, but at this pace I doubt it.

Hey, look at the bright side: you could be playing a Ranger. We GOT an acknowledgement. Look where that got us – everything that was kittened before is still kittened now, and some of it is more kittened than it was in the first place (Quickening Zephyr on Shortbow, I’m looking at you).

I do sympathize, though. Every class has a gigantic list of sometimes spec-killing bugs, and they are just not getting fixed. Traits aren’t working, weapon abilities aren’t working, abilities aren’t working… ad nauseum.

The dumb thing is, we have holiday events rolling out left and right, and bugs in those are found and hotfixed almost instantly – yet key things about how both of my characters work that are bugged or broken haven’t been touched. I couldn’t care less about virtual tricks or treats or digital Christmas presents. I just want my characters to work properly.

Another bugfix for warrior is gonna be fixed tommrow. We can only hope they fix all the other classes sooner..then maybe we will get some of ours fixed. Since they wont have anything else to do.

Ranger cant complain imo. At least you the developers acknowledge you exist. At least they have confirmed that they actually know the problem exists. Engineers have been left in the dark since beta. Doesnt help that 95% of the player base dont even know about Engineers. Only a few people actually play them as a main. Alot of people couldnt even get through the leveling phase and they have engi alts stuck at lvl 40 something.

Every single bug fix we have received, has come with 10 more bugs added. Its pretty sad really. I’m also from the camp of I just want my character to work, but i think they have to release content for the other classes that are more popular. Its funny even some players dont even list Engineer as a class in this game. It is like we dont exist like big foot. You will see one every once and while but u cant prove it. I’ve talked to alot of engineer is most of them are frustrated by the lack of build variety due to bug ridden traits and skills.

Also I recognize that some of these bugs are not easy fixes. Specifically things like scaling kits and sigil on swap. There are alot of interactions that dont exist in the game so it will harder to make work. Kits as most engineers will find out have their own problems interacting with other bundles. (The seal hammer for instance). Also some of the bugs are more complex like the hit box and collision detection. I don’t expect those things to be fixed for sometime. Sorry flamethrower users. Creating the tech to fix those sort of things will take time. Still we should at least get all our tool tips corrected. Also get our traits working. No one likes playing Russian roulette trying to see if x and y trait work together. or if Z trait even though it says all elixir it only means 2 of them.

It seems we as Engineer have to realize that we come last. Since our bugs dont effect as many people as other classes bugs do. Until then find a niche that works for you.

I tried something similar to this last patch, but with no response and for some reason a title change. But good luck in getting one I know I am waiting for a response.
I am not gonna get angry for the lack of communication, I’ll just keep waiting patiently with some dignity. We engies should at least keep our standards high and not throw a fit like the other class forums do.

I think we can all agree that the pre-Lost Shores patch mid-November was essentially the Necro-love patch.

Much (but not even close to all) of Necro’s brokenness was addressed. All I can say is that I hope Engineer has it’s day soon enough in a big patch like that.

Tarnished Coast Engineer and… general alt-o-holic.

For the toast!

I’ve been leveling my engineer because I enjoy the playstyle and was thinking to myself ‘engineers are in tough spot atm but I’m sure they’ll be fixed soon and when they are my engie will be good to go!‘. But after reading through each patch and seeing the lack of them tackling ANY of the issues my excitement for the engie waned with each patch released. My engineer sits at level 76 and will likely stay there until the problems get resolved. It’s clear the developers are more interested in putting more hats in the BLTP than fixing things that have sat broken for MONTHS now.

what annoys me is the knee-jerk fix to bleed on pistol 1 attack was done almost instantly. Now the 1 attack is a limp wrist slap compared to what it was previously. So much for “bit at a time”.

Yup they nerf the few viable builds people can find through all the bugs. Now pistol is inferior to rifle is almost every way. Last patch they tried to nerf Grenades and bunker builds. They destroyed smoke bomb which in turn bugged the skill and related traits. 4 second duration and 2 second pulse and nerfed the radius. Even if those builds were strong which i believe some of them were. After the nerfs and new bugs it leaves us with very few builds.
