Hello there fellow rockstars, lovers and friends!

I have a question regarding the making of my Ascended Wup Wup (Celestial) armor.
I Love my Engineer, i really do. However, i love my Elementalist equally much.
Not sure who deserves the armor the most. You know, who deserves to be most complete. I know the stat difference is minumum, its still bothers me though. Feeling complete is awsome.

Ill go straight on and give you my opinion.

My Elementalist looks flashy, is a Sylvari male which makes most armor look awsome, and the ascended will look even more awsome than he already does. However, for anything except roaming in WvW ill be using Zerker, to my despair. I got my Ley Line daggers which i will pair with the ascended look which would make me feel awsome.

However, my engineer is actually ALOT more fun in short periods of time, gets very exhausting and sore fingers after playing it for longer times at a time. Also he is a Charr, which makes alot of armor, including the ascended skin look lousy and.. just worse than other skins. AND, on top of that i really need a new rifle, currently using the charrzooka for Lore reasons, which just recently started bother me. However i feel better using Celestial engineer if i go with the WvW blobs than on my elementalist for unknown reasons.

Outside of the bothers and love of the professions ill also mention that ill be roaming with a guardian or ranger friend.

Also, kitten those Crystal quartz.

You have a couple of other factors to consider too – price, and reusability.

Question – if you pick Ele, it will have Zerker stats, but Engi will have Celestial?

I’d be tempted to go for the Ele zerker ascended. It costs more to make, but as you’ve said, it will be better cosmetically, plus the same armour will be quite viable for other light armour classes (back-line power necro, shatter or PvE mesmer). Celestial medium is pretty much only usable for Engi’s.

Of course, you could make medium zerker, and try roaming with an Engi SD build

Then the armour is both cheap, and re-usable (for meta thief and ranger glass cannon builds).

Although you might want to practise with SD for a bit before committing to it, since it doesn’t fit everyone’s play-style.

Oh sorry for leaving out some information,
I already have exotics of all combination except celestial on both my elementalist and engineer!
And it really is the ascended Celestial i want so thats what ill get ^^

Hmm, now I’m torn.

All things equal, I’d probably go for the Cele Engi then; I like Amadeus roaming vids (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/engineer/Video-Outnumbered-WvW-roaming)

If you ever find yourself in a zerg as an Engi, at least you can go full blast spec and do some extra heals. However, I find myself always wanting to switch character when I hit a zerg, even random button smashing on an ele/necro/guard/warrior seems to be more useful in a zerg than a well built and played engi

Cele is fantastic on some solo farming especialy underwater. In dungs with pugs its also great but zerk for speed runs is ofc better

forgot to say but im mainly WvW oriented,
and i know the difference if you want a focused build but with celestial armor it will differ 173 power, a few % crit chance and dmg, but more on everything else..

So well, who would you say makes most use of the stats and able to switch builds more freely?

My cele engi is one of my absolute favorite roaming build. You should go for which appearance you like the most, since the stat difference is not that big. Another good argument in favor of celestial is the time gate you face with celestial gear anyway: you might as well do your two time gated materials (mats and cristals) at the same time.

Light berserker is also a good choice. It’s very expensive, but in my opinion it looks incredible (especially since light armors in this game are the ones I like the least), and you could use it later on a shatter mesmer or a power necro, both very fun and viable builds.

I run cele armor with all of my builds, for two reasons.
One, it’s easier to make significant build changes “in the field” if you don’t have to change armor. I can go from condi DPS to direct DPS to tank to support by changing only traits and utilities.
Two, I only have the patience to make one set of ascended, and I’d rather have the insurance of celestial (Never amazing, but always OK) than try for zerker (Currently top, but not necessarily always that way).

full celestial ascended on an engineer in WvW isnt worth it, at minimum id take the trinkets and weapon but going complete to me atleast felt like it was neither the best at tanking or damage as far as WvW builds go and i think its simply because of your ability to effect your stats much more drastically then in spvp, so id recomend not getting it for your engineer in WvW, not to say full cele aint great but for me it just dosent feel like its optimal in wvw

It depends on what you play obviously, but I agree: if you add some precision in your armor, you don’t need the sigil of intelligence, and you deal a bit more damage.

Optimal for what? I guess its value depends on what your using it for.
