I was lucky enough to buy a lot of the giant wintersday gifts when they spewed out charged quartz crystals, enough to finish my celestial set, and have had some pretty good success in WvW using it. Relatively high condition damage and power stats allow me to be effective against most builds, condi clear builds are still hurt by direct damage and toughness builds get smacked by my conditions. You really are setup to fight almost any other build.

Utilities
Healing turret: Provides some condi clear and can blast a second time with shield
Slick shoes: IMHO one of the best skills engineer has. Can stop rush zerkers dead in their tracks, ruins thief bursts etc.
Bomb kit: Works best for this build, 2k+ crits and a lot of condition application synchronises well.
Elixir S: Stealth allows for surprise attack, good for stopping bursts
Supply Crate: all others are useless
Poison dart volley on pistol can hit around 2-3K+ depending on crits, Explosive shot hits for around 400-700, same for static shot. Combining this raw direct damage with condition damage results in some pretty high sustained dps. The hardest fights are with PU mesmers and I generally lose due to attrition.
If you’re an engineer looking for a new WvW build that utilises all the damage then you have to give this a try, you won’t be disappointed.
