I am looking fora build suitable for being at the frontline
The last engineer build I have was a flamethrower build and well, is pretty kitten old and I haven’t touch it since HOT.
Any suggestion for frontline build that has lots of cleave?
I’ll be honest with ya, Engineer isn’t really worth playing in a larger group. It is simply the master of nothing. Its good at a lot of things, but it isn’t the master at any of them. It is faced with the same issue Ranger is faced with, good at some things, but not a master at any.
For front line, generally this is territory for Guardian, Warrior, Revenant and Elementalist. All of which have good sustain and share boons to provide something to one another. Unfortunately, all of those classes are better at everything in the front line than Engineer would be. Engineer is great for roaming, it just doesn’t provide enough group support and AOE damage to be useful in the front line, especially with Grenades being projectiles, they end up doing more harm than good with as many reflects are on the field these days.

I can’t really tell you if it is going to be very good for larger group play because I simply haven’t tested it for that, I’ve only used it for roaming. I imagine it could do okay, but it would be outclassed at everything it can do in larger groups sadly.
Our best frontline build is super speed bot.
All gyros and final salvo.
Spawn gyro → detonate.
+ use reconstruction field and defense field.
Gyros and superspeed are pretty good, but they’re not the only thing. Elixers offer a lot of zerg support that’s worth bringing, like Toss Elixer R ( fully traited its 207% revive every minute), Toss Elixer B (Stab every 16s), Toss Elixer U (Reflection/Projectile destruction every 30s), and Toss Elixer X (aoe moa) with the elixers themselves obviously being only for you. Between Gyros and Elixers, there’s a lot the Engineer can bring to lessen the load on other classes. Not to mention, Hammer brings an aoe stun, reflection, blocks, and leaps. The zerg Engineer is intended to assist in whatever aspect the zerg is lacking in

Why on earth would you run rocket boots over elixir gun in an HGH build without stunbreaks?
Anyway on topic :
Its “allright”. Got a pull, some waterfields, can blast many things, and a few boons for the group.
i actually command with my scrapper here it is

doesn’t do alot of dps but its useful, i will usually switch slick shoes out for something else depending what the enemy runs and what my squad is like.

I used to play in GvG scrims about a year ago. I was the only engineer there. What made me wanted was the toolkit skill ‘magnet’. If I picked a target without stab, I pulled him giving us a 95% chance on a kill. In GvG every kill counts.

I switch between them for mobility.
