WvW Holosmith vs Retaliation
Retal was always ridiculous vs a lot of engi builds. FT, nades and mortar are usually more painful for us than for enemies.
So with a Renegade at our side, we are finally free from the dangers of retaliation!?
Renegade elite counters retaliation. It heals every crit and has no icd.

Every weapon or kit is primarily designed around AoE and/or multi-hit abilities. Retal should’ve been reworked years ago.

You know, somehow I feel glad that I kept missing with that skill, lol. I replaced it with Mortar, so I never got the chance to explode.
Although I still don’t fire mortar at enemies due to the fetish for projectile hate. It’s mostly fired downwards for the fields. Meh.
In big fights, it’s about equivalent of bringing a Staff DD except you have to put more effort for the damage output and lack utility, though you can bring a few fields. Still worse than scrapper, and scrapper is already several times more effort for a fraction of the results compared to the in vogue classes. I honestly don’t see what Holosmith could bring to change this, especially given the toys Warriors and Necros got….

Agreed.
It makes a ton of sense to make retal apply stacks of a new slow ticking dot condition: cursed. Then at least we would have options.
