WvW Roaming-2 Builds!
1. If you want to discuss WvW builds you should build WvW builds, those are with pvp gear.
2. People actually move in wvw and dont camp points.

For one I’ll spell it out for you. So soldier gear has power vit and tough. There are a few ways to get this in game in PvE. You could do dungeons, WvW, or buy sentinels (though its not the exact same). Hopefully this information helps you in the future in further understanding communication between different players.
It is true people don’t camp. However, in a battle fighting next to people; being able to provide significant AoE healing a long with yourself is vital. Bombs may not have a huge radius, but they are still very very good in battles. Hopefully this information helps you understand engineer a bit more, i know they can be a bit confusing.
You have a 4% crit chance on the 2nd build and you use a sigil for crit? Does it make sense?
And the rune of Dolyak gives 30 hp per second. Come on 30hp? I do not like that rune.
I’m not very experimented in engineer, but I see some things that can be improved:
Huntsman:
1- You have soldier gear cause you’ll not be doing any damage, but the main purpose is to hit hard with rifle attacks?
2- I don’t understand why you use rifle if you don’t have “Go for the eyes” with a lot of critical chance. Rifle only outperform pistol/shield CC when running this trait and having a lot of precision. Otherwise, pistol/shield cc possibilities will shine more.
3- 30 points in Tools just to reduce the cd of 1 skill doesn’t seem worth to me. And those 10 points in alchemy are wasted to get a trait that won’t do much job in this build.
Regengineer:
1- As lupanic said, why having a critical-hit sigil with no precision? Also having 2 sigils with cooldowns in not recomended, as they share the cd.
2- Also rune of dolyak is quite bad, since the healing is just ridiculous. Take a healing or toughness rune instead.
3- No reason to have shield trait when you’ll use 3 kits most of the time and you’ve put traits that benefits when having kits…
4- Adept explosives traits (Evasive Powder Keg and Forceful Explosives) are indispensable in a bomb healing build.

This is my built:

All rounder, front-liner, healer, chaser, lure, solo-er.
Benefiting from the bulk of stats this build is capable to taking on any role and excel in it.
-Good critical chance with critical damage along with high power allows for sudden burst.
-Minor condition damage to put pressure (Mainly via Incendiary Powders)
-2 Burst insurance(Block for Immobilize incoming burst, Elixir S for incoming Stun burst)
-High effective health with toughness, healing and double condition removal every 15/20 seconds. (Depending on choice)
-Sub 25% health insurance, double healing and quad condition removal paired with 2 burst immunity allows for longevity fights
-Single target CC to the point of annoyance
-Mostly uninterrupted down finisher. (Throw Elixir S, Stealth/Stability finishing)
-Superb projectile burning combo with fire fields (Throw Wrench)
-100% Vigor and Swiftness uptime with toolkit swaps, bait and kite capable.
-Magnet on Tool box provides engagement opportunities, primarily pulling at 1200 range on enemy commanders/primary targets.
-Near one-shot burst damage against non toughness/vitality builts. Magnet > Pry Bar > Net Shot > Blunderbuss > Overcharged shot > Grenade Barrage > Jump Shot.
-43k HP in Elixir X Rampage Juggernaut form, capable of rushing in to punish priority target with charge, knockdown, launches coupled with massive damage. (Throw Boulder > Charge > Stomp > Kick > Punch etc)
-32k HP Tornado with constant launch and blindness/knockback/damage ensures a good area safe-zone during zerg pushes.
If you are expecting a 1v1 against a non minion class, swap either Tool Box or Elixir S for Net Turret, Overcharged Net Turret means enemy is a sitting duck for 10 seconds if he doesn’t have stun breaker, which is more than enough time for you to erase his existance.
Of course this built expects you to know of the fundamentals of engineer and proficient with kit swapping. Weapon selection is 2 sets of Berserker Rifles equipped with Superior Bloodlust to be swapped to Superior Force once 25 stacks is achieved.

The sigil was a mistake, it was supposed to be 10% duration for cripple. I still find dolyak great with this build cause it increases it’s overall surviveability greatly and is a great combo with out other regen mechanics. I do the shield trait because the decreased CDs go great with it the other kits. It allows you to do blast finisher and block more often.
It is true this isn’t the greatest builds. But let see. The amount of engineers in the game in WuvWuv is very very small compared to the rest of the classes. This is even more so in roaming. I’m just trying to figure out builds that could get people out there. Yesterday i was roaming with some buds and I got split off from the group. I ended up fighting this ele and we fought for a good 10-20mins (I had the huntsman build on). He was actually a in game friend of someone in my guild and he told my friend that it was the most annoying amazing build he’s ever fought, “I was knocked down for days! I have no idea what he was doing”. So I decided to go do this dueling thing with him against other people and he said he was cracking up when he watched me fight these people. One ranger gave up during the fought. I was actually able to kill a few people.

HUNTSMAN 2.0
Drop 10 in tools and grab Another 10 in Alchemy for Protection Injection since you have no stun breaker , remove slick shoes and grab Elixir R for more dodges / ranged rez for team support or grab Elixir S for clutch stomping / rezzing or escaping. Grab 6 runes of Melandru to handle stuns and conditions even better.

Yeap thats something I actually do, in terms of skills no runes (i’m poor to be constantly switching haha). It really depends on your roaming comp. One of the reasons I go for slick shoes is because they are great for shutting down highly mobile classes. Since I roam with almost all thieves, basilisk is the only immobilizer they really have, making eles and other thieves quite hard. I usually Pull>Slick Shoes>Net turret+daze>immobilize with gun> immobilize with net turret toolbelt>knockback with rifle. Slick shoes also offers some good multi knockdowns when fighting against more than one person.
