I am no Engineer/Scrapper expert but have been having a decent amount of success with this build. I am sure I am missing some obvious optimizations but if someone wants a decent starting point give this a try:

Build is very tanky, allows for full time swiftness out of combat, has two blocks, two manual stun breaks, one auto-stun break, goes invuln when low on health, stealth, reveal, knockdowns, etc. Blast Gyro is meant to be swapped out with Bulwark, Elixir B or Elixir Gun (take Inversion Enzyme in this case). I left Blast Gyro on because it comes with an extra stun break/super speed. I went Elixir H over Healing Turret for the additional condi removal and might stacking.

Any thoughts on changes that might make this more effective?

swap slick shoes for egun and inversion enzyme for backpack regen. you don’t have great regen uptime with this build, and you dont have much condi clearing so any burst condi spec will chew you up and spit you out. egun also allows for more might stacking and a better stun break.

swap mass momentum for rapid regeneration. you don’t have the stab uptime in this build to make it worth taking just for the 10% power.

consider power wrench over reactive lenses, or static discharge and slot rifle turret instead of blast gyro for better bursting. as it stands, blast gyro is pretty kittenty even in a 1v1. honestly, go with anything other than blast gyro.

Hoelbrek is better than scrapper runes in almost every situation. as is -condi duration food, especially with hoelbreak and adaptive armor to help deal with conditions.

consider swapping purity (it’s just overall a poor sigil) for energy to make better use of kit swapping and +endurance regen. Fire’s eh, hydromancy can help you stay on target better and deals only slightly less dps.

edit:
if you’re dead set on blast gyro, a good combo is magnet→blast gyro→ham5. you can lock someone down for a crazy long time like that pretty reliably

Hmm, Stabilization Core only works with the function gyro, making the use a lot more limited— it doesn’t work with any other gyro so Mass Momentum won’t work well with it either.

Yea I know it was disappointing, when I had to read it more carefully.

Hmm, Stabilization Core only works with the function gyro, making the use a lot more limited— it doesn’t work with any other gyro so Mass Momentum won’t work well with it either.

Caught that one last night and modified the build to accommodate.

I will give it a try. I went MM because so far durability hasn’t been an issue and extra power is better when that is the case.

Slick Shoes is a difficult ability to give up since it has a fantastic knockdown, stun break, super speed and is an excellent escape ability. I think the E-Gun is going to be part of the final build but right now this build lands on the advanced play side without five more abilities to juggle. Once I get used to all the existing options I will expand.

I don’t think of Blast Gyro as a damager. It is a stun break, vigor and super speed on a 25s cooldown. The long range damage on a 15s timer with optional daze is a nice bonus. Also as I noted this is the swap slot ability. E-Gun, Bulwark, etc are all good here depending on situation. This is the wildcard slot right now.

Condition meta has dropped off sharply since HoT. So far the Elixirs, Adaptive Armor, Transmute, Purity (Generosity in my case) and stealth have kept me up in fights. I think once I integrate the E-Gun, condi bombs will not be an issue. Hoelbrak trades about 300 toughness (adjusted) for extra might. They are both good but I don’t see Hoelbrak as clearly superior at least in this case.

I actually run Generosity which is an awesome sigil. I didn’t include it in the build since that sigil is out of the reach of most WvW players. Without the EGun, Elixir C, etc on the bar I would keep Purity or Generosity on the weapon. Fire is on there for that extra spike of AoE damage but I agree any number of sigils can be slotted here to good effect.
