[WvW] The celestial engineer
Nice! I am excited to see how your build pans out with the buff to the healing bombs. I use Settles trinkets for the healing but hadn’t thought about using celestial gear. That stuff is expensive! I’ll for sure check this thread out again once the buff comes into play.
On its own healing power is nothing to boast about (by design); however when you add several sources of healing, it adds up. I don’t play with bombs anymore because I’m accustomed to range strategies, but backback regenerator + regen boon + supir elixir = a nice HP boost. If you were to throw elixir bombs into that mix, then you would be quite the mobile med station. In comparison, you would double your healing power using a cleric set, but that only offers an increase of about 70 hp per bomb (notwithstanding your offensive abilities take a nose dive). So as Nessou says, picking that bomb trait is more about offering that little extra support.
I would be curious to see 5 engineers group up and use it. That would give about 1000 hp every 2 seconds, which is quite sizable. Seeing 5 big old bombs going off every 30 seconds would be pretty funny too.
Honestly, it is a trait to benefit a bomb build, but it is not such a powerful trait that you really make builds off of it.
The thing I like about celestial gear, is that you do enough direct damage+enough condition damage, that all of the bombs do good damage and have either strong damage or strong utility value. Add in the healing power that is on celestial, and you are being very beneficial to any group of any size, in multiple ways. At least that is how I feel about it.

This is a nice general purpose build for WvW. You can run in a zerg as a ranged dpser and solo roam fairly well if you pick your fights.
Kills me not to use pistol/shield because I spent so much time getting Quip, but rifle is just plain better for celestial gearing + might stacking. Long range crits for 2k+ that proc high damage burning and bleeds cant really be matched by pistols very lackluster AA. This build is a bit glassy so stay out of the middle of a zerg (elixir S and rocket boots are there to get you out of the fight if you positioned yourself badly), but if you want to snipe on the side and lay down a barrage of grenade death this build is awesome.
The loss of IP in the next patch is going to hurt this build a bit.
