I was curious so I watched most of the video. I wouldn’t expect any of the utilities used to be nerfed this patch, except for prybar which will do half confusion damage in WvW. Of course, anything could be nerfed in the future.
Put up your healing turret. That should fix whatever you lose in this nerf. Well, at least that one intelligent John Sharp guy seems to believe this.

I watched the SotG. They mentioned nothing for nerfs on Toolkit, Utility Goggles, Static Discharge, Net Shot, or Supply Crate.
People are definitely overreacting before patch notes are even out.
Confusion is getting a 50% reduction in wvw, so that hits some mesmer and engineer builds the hardest. Toolkit prybar.

why should we sacrifice HGH so the healing turret actaully Heals over time? devs dont want to buff turret’s armor nor hp so they ll always be paper turrets whereas ranger pets gets even more buffed cuz doing 8k damage and stuns immobilizes knockdowns is in no way superior to turrets huh

I agree about turrets not having enough defense/HP to take many hits. However, they don’t need to be nearly on par as Ranger pets do. As it is now, Ranger pets are horrible. If you played on a Ranger, you’d know how bad they are. They die on just about every boss in every dungeon. There’s a reason Ranger is the absolute most hated class for dungeon runs. I’m glad their pets are getting some work, it’s their class mechanic for crying out loud.
I do agree, however, that turrets (among a lot of other Engineer ideas) need heaps of help.
This is a glass cannon build. Every class can create videos like this. The video is nice but if you want to nerf something based on this video then please watch the Necro, mesmer, ele or thief videos where they kill up to 10 people in a row. or win 1 vs 4 or something like this. WvW videos should not be a reason for a nerf.
I played some matches against engineers with this build. This build is weak in spvp because the lack of condition removal makes it weak. If you get focused you are dead in seconds and all teams fokus the engineer first or as second.

Hopefully the PvE/WvW/PvP splits can start to address issues like this, since rangers certainly aren’t weak in PvP.

Oh, I know. But I really think it’ll take more than just a few number splits to help Ranger pets in WvW and PvE. The update with pets trying to attack mobs from behind sounds like a good step towards what’s really needed, so hopefully we can see more things like that for Rangers.
