Hey i play a dual pistol engineer and was wondering what is the best superior rune to use which will give me great condition damage? I saw the superior rune of afflicted looked good because of its 15% bleed and poision duration + the extra cd damage on it but I just want to know if there is anything better? Thanks

Most sets of runes give the duration increase as the second bonus. Getting 3 sets of 2 superior runes maxes your duration. Depending on which condition or boon you would like to max will impact your decision.

So if I absolutely want to max bleed duration:
2x Centaur
2x Afflicted
2x Krait

edit – I should mention that there is a lot of fun to be had with all of these runes and possible combinations so if you want to test them go to sPvP and have fun with it there as they are all available freely.

what role? spvp, wvw, pve?

The 2x centaur, afflicted, krait idea I do kindof like.
But dolyak, lyssa are good for spvp too.

I run two monk, two krait and two afflicted.

all wrong the most efficient condition (atleast regarding damage) setup is:
10 points in explosives tree
napalm specialist master trait from firearms tree
2x krait
2x afflicted
2x lyssa
superior sigil of smoldering
superior sigil of earth

=> +50% burn and +50% bleed duration and more bleed stacking

This would not be good with “Major Runes”
(2x Krait) and (2x Afflicted) would only get you the following
+34 Condition Dmg, and +20% Bleed Duration

Compared to getting (4x Afflicted) which would get you
+57 Condition dmg, and +25% Bleed Duration.

and of course with “Superior Runes”
(2x Krait), (2x Afflicted)
+56 Condition Dmg, and +30% Bleed Duration

But if you get (4X Afflicted) you get
+83 Condition Dmg, +15% bleed duration, and +15 poison

Would it not be better to go for 4x Runes of Afflicted instead 2x Krait + 2x Afflicted?

I’d go with 6 runes of the undead. Dirt cheap, and works really well with ‘rabid’ gear.
