i think engi is going to be my next char to level (despite having deleted and remade my necro); i know what build i want at 80; but whats the easiest; most hasslefree method/build to level?

Make sure you have a stock of both food and that other stuff (icon of a wrench) to get the bonus exp. Use Exp Boosts and guild exp banners.

As far as to what to actually do. I find events give a nice amount of exp as well does personal story missions.
I have also gained a modest amount of exp from discovering new locations, points of interest and the like.
If you have the money, pop a craft booster and crafting can grant you several levels in a very short time.

I know several MMOs that grant you an exp bonus when in a party, tho I dont know if GW2 does that. I dont think they do.

BUT most importantly: have a mini out at all times!

as my signature states; i have 6… well… 5 now; lvl 80s; so i know how to actually level
but i derped and didnt check the front page before posting; seems like bomb kit is a good way for lazy levels; run around aggro a ton of mobs then just spam them to death (using a rock -or something- to LoS ranged mobs into a group)

That will work.
(You always have ranged weapon: pistol or rifle.)

hmm, im actually thinking about leveling an engi as well, will have to delete one of my lvl 80’s, since i dont feel like buying an extra slot..

EDIT im just afraid ill regret it, if i delete my lvl 80 ele, and if i feel like playing it again someday, but for now, i havent played my ele for a few months, i just dont feel like it, especially not after the RtL nerf..
