builds for the casual Engi PvPer
If you start with engi, you should start to play a meta build and modify it by yourself. Good builds to start are at metabattle.com.
Bunker is not what the engi should do, because we have no condi removal and no stability. This make us very bad bunker
NO! Do not go meta just yet. Cele Rifle engineer takes a bit of practice to get going.
Anyway. Bunker Engi’s are normally turret Engi’s, but there is nothing fun, rewarding to it, nor is it even a good build.
SOOOO many better builds to choose from :
Static Discharge burster
Dual or Tri kit condi. Can be overwhelming with all de buttons.
Meta Celestial Rifle.
Celestial HGH elixer
Decap engi (all about the knockbacks and taking point under there nose with them flopping about).

Thanks guys! I do have some Spvp experience with Staff ele bunker. Idk if engi is harder or easier than staff ele. I want to challenge myself now so what build would give me a decent challenge? I mainly want to do Spvp on this character but also want a decent PvE build to complete personal story/ living story.

I started engi ought to the many skills and low cooldowns (excluding shield which is very versatile though).
For the most button smashing, combo pull off, go with 3 kits and healing turret. Either cele with rifle or p/p or p/s
I tend to take toolkit, nades and e-gun.
You can subatitute e-gun for slick shoes, I like elix s or rocket boots for more fire. If so, take some alchemy traits to be less vulnerable to cc due to the lack of a stunbreak.
I even like having fun with the elite elixir. It can be very effective. Though crate is still the best elite in the game imo.
hint: check all your fields and combo finishers and think through all possible combos.
I like:
with poison field: rifle #5 for area weakness, f-skill toolkit for nice poison.
Water field: rifle #5 for healing, rocket boots, supply crate, shield blast, flamethrower #2 for area heal… and other finishers like explode turret.
F-1 skill healing turret plus rocket boots
smokebomb for stombs and amazing stealth combos with blast finishers.
Furthermore, bear in mind that kit skills are still executed if you do not drop bundle but rather press kit button (eg. #6) again. That gives combos like toolkit pull plus nade f skill, nade poison field plus rifle jump, pull plus netshot plus mines plus jumpshot and a lot more.
Get creative!
For starting out I’d recommend a dual-kit condi build. Either nade/toolkit/x or bomb/toolkit/x, with rabid amulet and pistol/shield, preferably balthazar runes. You can move on to pistol/pistol after getting a hang of the build, then cele rifle later. 6/0/0/6/2, 6/0/0/4/4, or 6/2/0/4/2 generally, though bombs can take 2 out of explosives for a bit more flexability.
Condi doesn’t play anything like cele, but it’s more forgiving and it’ll give you a chance to learn all your skills, what to dodge, what to interrupt, what builds to avoid, etc.

I agree, Dual kit condi will provide a decent challenge with not to much frustration.
