celestial hybrid engi vs condition p/p or p/s
i find pp conditions on rabid with nades , toolkit and elixir S works better for me than celestial ( use quite the same traits , utilties but with rifle ,celestial and strength/battle)
Rabid with p/s will will be more effective simply because you can win more 1v1s with it, but you will be less effective in teamfights. If you’re just camping far it shouldn’t be much of a problem. Necros will be able to destroy you, though.
condi engi belongs in the team fights for burst, celestial/rifle engi can roam and decap more efficiently.

Pistol/Shield with knockback turrets.
Often people think this is bad because turrets are rooted, but it’s actually quite mobile. Both Flame and Rifle turrets have really low cooldowns. I tend to take Rocket Turret for that extra CC, but the low cooldown can put some people off. You may wish to swap that out for nades/TK

Rifle is thuper for assaulting a point! The control it gives is great! One Overcharged Shot and Net Shot and the point is decapped!
Generally offhand pistol is reserved for pure condi builds that don’t have any other burning besides Incendiary Powder! If you run, for example, Bomb Kit or Flamethrower, or Flame Turret, or even Rocket Boots you can take shield offhand!
