check it out engineers! advice/critique?
ditch rifled barrels, it isnt doin much for you. you arent using rifle, and youre playing spvp. so youre primarily nodefighting at close range, but you dont have really good cc on p/s (ie net shot) to hold people off the node. i think id recommend speedy kits.
second, i wanna point out the other great adept alchemy options: prot injection, S @ 25%, vigor-on-swiftness (+ speedy kits), or elixir cds. they make blood injection look kinda boring in comparison.
3rd, sigils. 2 on swap sigils doesnt fly until the feature patch. clever use/justification, but no. pick 1 to keep, grab a… idk, corruption or something… i dont really like any other condi sigils that have no icd.
4th, runes… scavenging, noble, or adventurer are pretty good too.

Meant to say im using 1 of those 2 sigils and keep switching….other one is Sigil of fire.
also ill be losing like 280 condition dmg 10% crit chance (down to 42%) all for swiftness and vigor? i totally agree i need swiftness but is it worth the trade off? and i LOOOOOOOVE rifled barrels as engineer i cant seem to catch up to people even w/ swiftness. without rifle or exlir gun or rocket boots and no ports of sorts i cant seem to keep up when those pesky warriors/eles/guardians decide to flutter away. i know its not about chasing … i guess but still a thought.

actually there is no “scavenging runes” in spvp :/ no wonder i forgot about them

i never went in much cuz of crap like this. cant play the way i wanna play due to limitations.
dont use fire w/ hydromancy or battle. it also has an icd. all icds are shared. until the feature patch.
trust me… a year ago, i couldnt imagine running without rifled barrels. someone on this forum said “well yeah its a really nice trait but theres times you just dont need it.” so i tried without, and i found that outside of pve, i could deal with it. but i still switch back for jump puzzles, and generally leave it on cuz lazy. but this is a time you dont need it. but perma swiftness will be really great for getting you back in the fray after a death, cuz there wont always be someone dying at the same time as you who has group swiftness. and the crit loss is no biggy.
im sure you prolly like the damage from blood injection, but if you find you have survivability problems against like power builds… thats what prot injection or S @ 25% is for. need dodges? vigor. hgh build? elixir cds. basically, that slot is overloaded with choice for a greaser or 3 incomparables… and all youre taking is extra damage. my wvw build has the same option in inventions, with energized armor vs anything but metal plating. something to think about.

It maybe sounds crazy, but I would personally go Pistol/Shield. Pistol has more condition damage which is more useful in your build since you are most likely bunker. Also the shield knockback and daze is awesome for point holding and interrupting revive.
Next to that I would change Flamethrower for Elixer Gun. You already have enough burn from the trait, and Elixer Gun has better Utility in my opinion. You gain an extra stun break, single condition removal (Which is already missing a bit) with AoE heal and a blast finisher that gets you out of nasty situations.
i use flame thrower for the AOE knockback (best in game in my opinion) and the blind plus fire field and AOE dmg from skill 2. i do like elixir gun but the poison on that is so useless i only find myself using skills 4 + 5.
i do run p/s ….p/p didnt didnt do as well ….rifle was amazing but like it better for wvw where i have more room to use it with elixir gun.
gonna think of dropping 10 points in crit/condi line for perma swiftness on kit change. really hate losing that 10% crit chance and 280 condition dmg tho.
