condi WvW gearing
Full Rabid or Rabid/Dire mix is still good for roaming condi builds. Celestial is a different animal and leverages Might through Sigil of Battle and Hoelbrak. Both Might and Sigil of Battle got toned down recently so I’m not sure how that’s affecting the build.
Do you by chance know what pieces should be dire/rabid and if full rabid or dire would be better? Also if cele is better overall and whats the easiest way to get cele gear! Thnx!
For WvW roaming Rabid is more viable because of superior mobility on associated builds!
Cele works but once your caught, you can’t get away. Also fights last A LOT longer with Cele builds which you don’t want for roaming, especially without an escape.
Anyway. FULL Rabid works PERFECTLY fine, however if you want a bit more health, then use 1 or 2 pieces of Dire stat accessories. 1 ring and your amulet for example.
No more than 2 pieces though or your crit chance drops too much.

How do you have more escape with a condi build than with cele?
“Mentoring engineers / mesmers and showing you what you can do with your fantastic class!
Just pm me for my advice! Always eager to help!”

More access to slows, rocket boots/elixer gun. I know these are options for Cele too.
Invis bomb kit combos if your using it.
But most importantly, you do not need to build might to do good damage, which is in itself a mobility thing in WvW.

Full Rabid is fine for roaming, but if you want a bit more HP you can use Rabid/Dire Ascended Trinkets, and/or Dire weapons. It’s pretty easy to build a condi spec on the cheap and still be serviceable, Power build not as much. Depending on your rune/sigil choices of course.
There’s no easy way to get Celestial gear. You can get Celestial Trinkets with laurels, from fractals (Rings only), and Mystic Forge (Back only), but armor and weapons have to be crafted and you can only make one account bound charged quartz crystal per day (per account). So a minimum of 30 days per set of Celestial Armor, and another 5 days per weapon.
wow! is celestial really that great? or is it just preference? that just seems like a lot of work if its not really worth it. thnx!

Its worth having one celestial kit, but it takes time to make. Pointlessly so since it isn’t really considered AMAZING, just good.

Hmmm….. I might skip out on the cele train sounds like to much work for just good! Thnx for answering all my questions I actually have one more pertaining to the condi build is it better to go perplexity runes or flame legion? Can’t decide! Thnx again!

You don’t need or want the extra Power from Flame Legion runes.
Perplexity is good, but I prefer Runes of Balthazar (these are pretty much flame legion with condi instead of power).
Another alternative is Runes of the Undead, assuming you are going to use Rabid/Dire kit.

Haha crap that what I meant was Balthazar got them mixed up so ya I have balth atm and him full rabid atm just didn’t know if some dire and or perplex would make build better!
Nah, depends on your preference. If you like baiting hits, then perplex and some dire would be good. Otherwise Rabid+Balthi is perfectly good.
All about playstyle in this case.

ive run with celestiel for a long time, with celestiel its more about landing those hard hitting power damage combos and stacking up a decent amount of conditions to keep decent sustained damage going but from my personal experience running full celestial isnt optimal in wvw, i much prefer to run with some celestial and some gear to match what i want out of my build for example i want to be mainly power oriented with decent sustained damage and decent sustained tank so a 50/50 of cele/soldiers gear was great for that on the other hand if i want to focus more on condi damage i could run rabid/celestial and my condition damage wouldn’t be as optimal as full rabid but id have extra vitality healing power and could get more out of the high damage abilitys that engineers have like shrapnel/barrage nades which really adds to your ability to take down certain enemy’s and in some cases where my opponent has really good access to condi removal it would give me an advantage in those situations.
so really i can recommend just getting a few peices of celestial here and there like the amulet/rings which are relatively easy to pick up, my self i have a complete set of ascended celestial/dire/zerker and it all sees equal use.
I still use a carrion/rabid mix in my primary roaming build, although it’s not as mobile as other builds. It’s a might stacking build, and the investment in power from the carrion gear can provide overall higher DPS that way. However, rabid/dire mixes will probably be best for most conventional builds, especially if you only care about condi damage.
I don’t feel that you need your precision too high though. If you can maintain a crit chance around 25-30% pre-fury, that’s generally more than enough to get your incendiary powder to proc reliably, as well as picking up an extra bleed here and there. Of course, if you have more on-crit dependencies, it might be worthwhile to go a bit higher.
