I have always hated shield . today i was bored so i tried to create an alternative to meta scrapper ( which is really op, for having fun and changing playstyle ) .
I decided to make a build around the trait “Expert examination”: the idea is to daze or stun as often as possible to do condi damage. i don’t use hammer becouse it is a condition based build . i tried it and it seems to me that it works quite well so i share this with you if you want to try , change or let an opinion. It is for fun … so take it for what it is . Shield 5 in this build is really strong , try it

The problem is that no matter how you work it… the pistol will be far more powerfull. With the sheild you got that extra voulnerability sure… but with pistol you got 1K+ burn dps. In my experience, pistol/shield simply doesnt bring enough damage to actually down skilled people. Then again I havent tried this specific build.

I would use bulwark instead of purge though.

Yes i played pistol pistol since october 2012 or so …it is my favourite weaponset but i feel now it is not so good for spvp . I wanted to try something really different becouse i was bored from hammer

For me, a scrapper with hammer, is better “viable” build compared to yours. On PvP you play with people, not solo. The engineer is the best support class for a team.

yes but for me scrapper is boring . I was really bored to play with hammer . I play for fun. Winning with no fun is not important for me . It is a game and not a work. I don’t gain money so if i don’t have fun i don’t play or i try to play something else . Lately i switched to mesmer to change becouse i was really bored from scrapper ( only the same gameplay all the time … even if scrapper is op )
