So I read somewhere (I forget where. I think it was on the general forum a while back) that even though there are no announced/planned expansions at the moment they have been looking at possible new equipable weapon sets for classes. Not new weapons just access to weapons that can’t be used currently.

I used to play City of Heroes (R.I.P.) and loved the feel of archery defenders in that game. They had flash arrows, explosive arrows, flaming arrows, electric arrows, etc.. but they felt like I feel the engineer should be in this game. Maybe not quite so techy and what have you but just FULL of gadgetry. As far engineers go I would love to see us gain access to some sort of set like that.

Just my two cents. I just think access to something other than guns without having to use kits would be excellent.

It’s far more likely engineer will get a mace or hammer, if they do add new weapon options. The mace would be nice, as it would give us a good weapon to go with shield (no pistol is not good, deal w/ it), and the hammer would be.. totally awesome.

Hammer would be the best fit but I agree that Mace would be the best options to allow more combos for shield (even though pistol IS awesome).

I really would be happy with both.

We kinda already have a mace/shield combo with toolkit, but I wouldn’t mind seeing it either. Hammer and bow maybe for 2h weps, as engi’s could deck them both out with all sorts of gadgets.

Or maybe, they’ll redesign the game so kits are just secondary weapon options intead of utility slot skills seeing as they cover most weapon options an engineer would want as pointed out with the toolkit responce.

It has been said in the past regarding engineers asking for more weapon options that we (and every profession) would someday get them. But i think it will most likely be a mace or hammer, would be kinda backwards for an engineer focused on creating guns and turrets to weirdly resort to primitive ranged weapon like a bow and arrow.

A shovel would simply be fitting best:

Or maybe a spoon- and fork-kit to cover mid-range.
