how to deal with Rangers as Juggernaut?

if you are dealing with pewpewpew rangers dont even bother using FT you cant reach them they will keep moving out of your reach
condi engineer there are chances you can burn them using your pistol with Incendiary Ammo
power build just use your rifle and gun them down
I’m not using the FT to engage, using Rifle as that’d be insane to engage with FT.
Running Wolfineers Juggernaut build – FT, Elixir B and Elixir S and when ever I engage a Ranger from afar it’s a lost cause. I get ranged down and can’t do anything. I try using Toss Elixir R to engage and eventually I’ll get out ranged again. Do I need to swap Elixir B for the Tool Kit or something. I’m like at a loss.
That just doesn’t sound like a very good build.
The Flamethrower just doesn’t do enough damage to operate on its own. Truthfully if I have an engineer throwing Flame Jets around I just blast a light field and watch them kill themselves to retaliation—or at least deal more damage to themselves than they do to me.
Whether you’re looking for power or conditions the Bomb Kit and Grenade Kit outperform it as far as mainstaying is concerned, and the Tool Kit and Elixir Gun are both substantially stronger at sustain than anything Elixir B gives you.
Use something like this if you really want to stick with the FT. Just understand it’s a hotjoin hero build and is deservedly—despite how fun it is to play—mid-tier at best. You’re going to get dominated especially by signet necros and d/d elementalists, which are both incredibly popular right now. But against rangers it’s all right.

easy,
opening – stealth→ orbital strike + close range FT2, if you can throw Mortar#3 before FT#2
on the move – juggernaut stability against LB4 and dogs + FT3 on LB2
Jump Shot, Net, Blunb and Overchardge Shot between stability
Hip Shot if you are bored
if opening is not yours, drink Elixir S, find a corner, drink Elixir H then steath
and dont forget, that cornerns and walls are your best friends, FT1 and Blunb can attack thru them

Just to clarify this is the build in question I’m referring to, I realize my OP left out quite a lot of detail. Now that the air has been cleared do you still think it’s a bad build for WvW roaming as that’s pretty much all I do outside of a lil zerg surfing every now and then:

Well, WvW roaming is a bit different to regular PvP, but I still think the Rabid FT/TK condi build is a much stronger flamethrower build.
FT in wvw is strong if you go in a zerg … if you roam alone in my opinion it is weaker becouse there is not “on point” fight. In wvw it is much easier to use space and envirorment and to stay away from ft skills … in spvp if you want to decap you have to go on the point and ft can works better
Oh, ft in zerg can be insta self kill, thus it is fun enough. Main reason I run ft now, is because I’m tired of p-s, nades, etc. Engi gives you an opportunity to play totally different and be strong enough, if you use it correctly.
You can even run tk hgh if you want and kill people
i go hgh pistol pistol full rabid , with elixir B, eg, elixir S and elixir X and for going killing people is really fun and strong . with traits from tools and from hgh your toolbet elixir skills have a huge cd reduction so it is really really strong .
In wvw i use all rabid except 2 celestial rings for having a little more vitality and hp .
It is really really strong ( obviously when there are big fight i trade elixir X for mortar for having range ) . In 1 vs 1 i kill quite everything ( obviously it depends on players skill level and necro are never easy to 1 vs 1 .. .but with moa and elixir X… and a little of lack you can do it also )

This build is really really aggressive in pvp also .
