how to make kit engineer work in structured PvP?

I keep getting pwned. I lack defense and heals are weak. And my damage is pretty much weak 1v1.

The only success i found was when i had somebody in the front line as a tank to destract enemy teams while my kits blast/condition them down while providing support. But if enemy focus fires on me, i am history.

i must be doing something wrong. Fill me in.

What Build are you Running?

Without knowing that id say you should learn your cool downs and familiarize your self with your keybinds and building muscle memory.

For example figure out a combo and practice it doing it on a golem without messing up.

say you have a S/D build that has Toolkit/EGun

A good opener would be Magnet>Pry bar>stow kit>Overcharge>Stun break>throw Wrench/Surprise shot>switch to Egun>Acid Bomb> Stow Kit

Another MAJOR thing that i should also add is know when to use your skills..TOO much i see people in yoloq Open fights with Gearshield…and when later they need to block some burst oh..Gearshield is on C/D so they waste a heal surviving burst…know when to use things resist the urge to just press buttons.

if your heals are weak, are you sure youre using healing turret correctly?

• spam heal 2x to make sure you overcharge and get the 2500 hp on the first tick instead of 3 seconds later
• always always ALWAYS pick up or detonate immediately, dont leave your turret out cuz ppl dont wanna see it

First, run a decent build

Learn the correct chain of sklls: Magnet+Pry Bar+Net Shot+Blunderbuss+Jump Shot+Overcharged Shot, then when your opponent is on the ground launch to him Poison Granade

learn how use Healing turret, and don’t forget Tool kit#4, if you are in trouble

you can also , if you like pistols, try one of the variuos pistol pistol or pistol shields condi builds (with rabid amult ) that usually use 2 kits. They are not the meta now but i find them really really strong in any case.
I don’t like to play all the time the same thing … so i play with p/p quite often .
