I play an engineer and I have the legendary rifle.

when I am not using a kit its awesome I have the glow affect, the foot steps and the #1 #4 #5 abilities are altered and its very nice.

and then I use my kits (90% of my time in combat is using kits)….

I lose my aura and my footsteps and the only skills affected by my legendary weapon are the non kit abilities such as the toolbelt skills (they are bound to the weapon not the kit) my #1 skill with kits are not affected either.

the only kit skill affected is my grenade barrage but that’s a toolbelt skill and not a kit skill.

also I am an asura. when I have my rifle on show the aura is barely even noticible. my footsteps are also barely visible and last a fraction of the time the 2 handed swords do.

the exact same thing also applies to the legendary pistol + shield (I do not have them but I know engineers who have them and they can confirm).

I would like to request that legendary weapons affect engineer kit skills and give the aura when using bundles.

infact any class using a legendary should get the aura + footprints when using any form of bundle. not just engineer kits.

I love my rifle and I love the grenade barrage affect. just make it work for my kits to please : (.

no other class has legendary effects while swapped out of their legendary weapons

I like to think about it being a pleasure switching back to my legendary.

no other class uses kit mechanics. the only time we use the weapons is when we swap to its skill use it then back to kits.

when eles swap attunement they still get the benefit of the legendary. engies are similar to eles with kits working like atunements.

also just like ele we cant swap to another weapon in combat.

so enough with the crap and just ask for legendarys to work on kits.

You cannot really compare engineer and elementalist to other professions.

When a Mesmer, ranger, warrior, or guardian is using their second weapon set, they lose the visual benefits on sunrise, twilight, or eternity. it is not different then when engineers arm a kit.

Another reason why I never bothered with that rifle. Things neers can’t really enjoy; back items and the legendaries.

Guys it’s not about hating on engi because other classes have no love too. It’s about starting somewhere to change that:

• kits with legendary effects
• phantasms with legendary effects
• if no 2nd weapon set legendary is equiped → copy effect
• maybe even an aura wardrobe? :O

i enjoy my rifle very much. and i get a lot of whispers in LA asking why im burning. and everyone i fight in pvp and wvw knows i have it, and i know that because i never miss it when another engi has predator or quip, and i usually dont miss the flameseeker but that 1 is admittedly easier to miss.
