Hei dear engineers
As the title suggests i just recently picked up engineer. I am playing around with a lot of different build ideas. However i do not want to ask for a certain build or trait distribution. I would much rather like to know what actually works well on engineer/ what is seen as bad, nooblike.
For example i have access to turrets, kits, gadgets etc. Which of those are mostly usefull and which are redundant (like f.e. traps on thieves).
I am looking for pve/wvw mostly.

For leveling just Stack power with bombs and a rifle. Buy a sigil of bloodlust for your rifle and use all strong gear (power precision). First 2 trait points go into tools for speedy kits, then just dump them all into explosives/firearms, taking as many dmg modifiers as possible. Rocket boots are good as they really help get around the map quicker. Your 3rd utility is up to you. Bomb kit #4 also practically makes you invincible against melee.

To answer your question, turrets are horrible outside of a turreteer build in spvp. Gadgets are mostly useless but some do fill a niche purpose. Elixirs are only good with an HGH build, but when trained into are really good. Most builds use 2-3kits, and those are our best utilities

I have a question… if you’re leveling and you’re going to be upgrading your weapon a few times, but want to use the Bloodlust sigil, can you get it out every time if you salvage with a BL salvage kit?

You can, but the minor sigil only costs like 50 copper, and the major a couple silver. Its not worth it to use a BLSK on low level stuff

tbh thats kind of a waste of black lion salvages cuz the sigils are like 20c / 4s on the trading post for minor/major. just buy another one.

Kits are the most useful, particularly the Grenade Kit!
