Roaming? Sure! your standart full rabid set will do! wolfineer http://wolfineer.com/ has all the guides you need, but you can always theory craft your own setup http://en.gw2skills.net/

Zerging……errr…..nope. p/p is heavily condi.

Dungeons? well….full sinister with Bomb/FT/(free for preferance)/Mortar can do nicely. Stack them burns like crazy damage wise is not bad at all. In some instances tho where power is more prefered it might be a slight issue.

Deax is right. The Pistol #4 is an extremely powerful burn. I’ve seen well over 20k come from it alone over its duration when traited for burning and condition damage.

For Roaming it’s awesome. I run a full sinister HgH setup, with double elixir S, elixir X & FT. Double-pistols are nice control & #4 hits like a truck

For zerging it’s less optimal, but still works just fine. Throw napalm into the zerg & back it up with blowtorch + firebomb. You’ll be amazed on how much dmg you suddenly tick.

In dungeons its very stressful to play it decently, but with enough effort put into it, the outcome can be amazing.

One thing needs to be said tho: for open world PvE-farming like Silverwastes or Drytop, you want to have power-focused builds, so rifle is your natural weapon of choice.
For general map-completion everything works, but when it comes to leveling up it can be costly to frequently have access to on-level condi-gear, so you’re better advised with rifle here as well.

What makes you say this? I play sinister with focus on burns, never burned those mordrem husk slingers down so fast!

Usually only tend to get out the rifle for extra escapes vs those pesky Mordrem Lurchers

Ofc there are mobs who can be killed extremely easily by condis, but since every condi-dmg has 1 sec delay after appliance you’ll learn that you miss out on much loot from events where the mobs die too fast to other people.

You won’t miss loot from mordrem For silverwastes, every condi engi is a must have at red to deal with the husk :P

p/p is totally viable, potentially the best personal dps ingame, just make sure you play condi and it’s fine

good thing sinister has a good amount of power too so that you can hit a thing and get a tag without even depending on your condis.

It’s pretty amazing. The important bit is to lay as many conditions as opposed to making the burn as strong as possible. To that effect, bring sigils and traits and combo your skills to lay poison, bleed, torment, confusion, and chill to blanket the burn from blowtorch. If left uncleansed, it does upwards of 20k damage.

To any class or build that doesn’t bring enough condi cleanse, it’s fatal.
