I bugs me on a “this doesn’t really matter” level that the only legendary rifle is an energy sniper rifle and the engineer’s rifle skills are essentially “shotgun” skills. Now that I’ve got that off my chest you may commence jeering.

Anyway I personaly feel it’s not worth to get a legendary on an engineer when you won’t see it for 50% of the fights.

Even worse if you are an Asura.

Not only do you not see it when you swap kits, when you do see it, it’s scaled down that you barely even notice the difference vs normal Rifles.

If I may add, 80% of the legendary weapons are so freaking girly, look at the Quip… A freaking pistol that shoots bubbles, what the hell is that, the chaos gun looks like a desert eagle and then you got the quip that look like a Halloween hair dryer.

The best legendaries are the concept arts made by fans.

Personally, I’m going for Quip. A joke weapon for a joke class, classy don’t you think?

P.s. by joke, I mean that about how the Engineer came to be (Commando + Alchemist)

I love my little Asura Engi so much, but it does make me a little sad that I’ll never work for an epic rifle/pistol too hard since I won’t see it much. Between kit swapping and tiny Asura weps, what’s the point? Not to mention the Mystic pistols you can get at level 5 look great on an Asura Engi. I’ll probably just play MF roulette and see if anything fun turns up.

I totally agree. And although it is certainly more true when you’re using kits all the time, I feel many of the legendary weaps for other professions are also a waste of time. Legendary weapons are, like almost everything else in the game that’s supposed to be unique or some kind of status symbol, on a “why bother?” status for me. There are some legendary weaps with cool particle effects, but for the most part there are other skins that I actually like more than legendary. Unfortunately, there are only 2 rifle skins that I would even want on my engi — neither of them legendary — and neither of them is the right color for my outfit =p

I want a rifle that actually looks like a double-barreled shotgun that has the same range but fires a pellet blast rather than a single shot.

I’m actually planning to transmute a generic blunderbuss skin onto my Pearl Rifle solely because I think it’s the best looking shotgun in the game. I do like some of the other rifle skins, but I’d rather my weapon’s appearance and function be in sync.

If you’re complaining now, just realize that the Predator used to have a plasma grenade effect on the Grenade Volley toolbelt skill. They just outright removed that because kitten Engineers.

I sport an A?zure Railgun (REALLY, censor?) and kinda want a Charrzooka… I think they are way cooler looking than the Legendary ones. What can I say, I’m a girl that likes REALLY big… guns! Totally going for a Quip just because of the humiliation factor for those who die to it… “You got shot in the face with confetti, some 4th of July sparklers and a gentle whiff of bubbles… you are so pro!” Kinda like every time I die to someone with the Dreamer… ARRRGH. >.<

Btw, Halloween Hair Dryer? This is my new favourite thing. ANet needs to re-name the weapon.

I just completed mine, was worth the effort but I too was disappointed you do not see the aura visuals with any kit equipped. I think it would look sweet running into combat with the flamethrower kit and a trail of fire footprints behind.

And… this is an issue?
Does everything have to be coolbro-cool?

I mean sure, I like the odd power fantasy Legendary like Sunrise or Juggernaut, too.

But why should it not be balanced by more fluffy Legendaries as Quip or Moot? Plus, there are only three “girly” (as you say) Legendaries. Out of 20, not counting Eternity. I think armour skins have a higher “girly” to “bro” ratio than that. Just go for another one. Of the ones available to us, two of four are “srs”, and Quip is fluffy. Sounds good, no?
In fact, in detail it’s even better. The sniper rifle is “srsbz”, the Flameseeker Prophecies are shiney as hell so they’re right up there with Sunrise and Twilight and Bifrost, and Quip is the awesome one for taunting your enemies by shooting flowers into their face. Plus who doesn’t love the Cheshire Cat? And there’s Frenzy, but I have never seen one life. Looks awesome, if a giant target marker due to the fish swarm.

Op is right. The Predator is a sniper rifle and the engineer uses is as a Rambo gun.

This is not right! The engineer should have as legendary one of the following options:

The Crossbow gun

The double crossbow

Steam Shotgun

Many more ideas could follow.

A quad-Crossbow. That’d be so awesome.

In fact, a gun-kit which would give us a moddable steampunk gun would be an interesting replacement for the Tool Kit, IMO (Bomb Kit already serves as a melee kit). A gun which has an autoattack + 4 abilities which reconfigure it, where you visible transform the device into a new configuration.

To my understanding all the “cool” looking legendary weapons a warrior can use and all the “silly” ones a warrior can’t use. Could be wrong because i play an asura engineer, Screw legendary weapons

I’m definitely going to send a +1 here for the effects to come back to grenade kit. Taking them away was a pretty sad move, like taking candy from a baby. A light purple blast when bombs go off or when using the elixir gun would be cool as well. Or glowing purple fluid in your flame thrower 8D

They were never on Grenade Kit. They were only for Grenade Barrage, and that was actually recently changed so that the effects show even when using a kit. Though I do agree that they should add the effects to the kits. Especially Grenade Kit, seeing as they already have the art assets and capability to make it work…
