pistol+ shield build
I’m looking for the same thing
Its probably a varient of the x/30/x/30/x build but there are a few options. I used to run 10/10/20/30/0 for elixirs with hgh and 409, shield cooldown/toughness and invis on immob, pistol range or recharge and burn on crit. You could also just go for coated bullets and skip reinforced shield, which i do at the moment for fighting certain classes.
Normally its an elixir build of some kind though.
The build I run with is: 10/30/20/10/0
Pistol / Shield
I use Incendiary Powder, Precise Sights, Hair Trigger, Coated Bullets, Metal Plating, Reinforced Shield, Self-Regulating Defenses.
Skills 6 – 0 = Healing Turret, Tool Kit, Rocket Turret, Net Turret, Supply Crate
(Yes, I use turrets lol) – You’d be surprised how amazing Net Turret is when kiting/luring enemies. Plus it adds another condition to cover up your other ones.
Armor = Condition Damage, Toughness, Precision
Runes = 4 Superior of Undead, 2 Superior of Lyssa
Sigils = 1 Superior of Agony, 1 Superior of Earth
Trinkets = All Berserker (I’m playing around with trinkets, with these I feel like I hit hard enough that people can’t ignore me but am still able to apply enough CD and stay alive :P )
Yak’s Bend [FoW]
I used to run something similar to this which can be modded for Condition Damage:
I am heavily leaning towards a varian of this https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/engineer/GUIDE-CeiMash-s-Guide-to-the-Dodgemaster/first#post1674334
once the patch is implemented.
I’m running 0/0/20/30/20 for WvW survivability and power-wrench at tools 20. My loadout for WvW is Elixir H, Elixir B, Toolkit and the last utility being an actual utility I switch out depending on the anticipated situations, but often I find elixir U to be great for projectile blocking and burst.
The pistol isn’t so much for damage as it is for additional shield survivability and a fallback-option for when I can’t get wrench range.
I run PTV on wrench since on-crit traits are garbage for wrench attacks which are mostly meant to cripple targets in WvW. Survivability lets me stick on single targets and keep them chain-crippled while Elixir B and the clutch Elixir U help with damage where it’s needed.
I can’t say what others would think of it, but all I know is that survivability paired with magnet, gear shield, pry bar, and permanent cripples work pretty well for me in WvW
EDIT: OKAY, now I just find out that I’ve been reinventing the wheel using TANKCAT build the whole time…. might help if I actually read things from time to time.
