rifle engi need 'range weapon kit'
I also felt that engies were missing a long range power focused weapon when I started to craft my power based ascended armor, but its such a specific niche that I don’t think others noticed :/
rifle auto is one of the strongest ranged autos in the game. the only thing that’s stronger is ranger longbow but power ranger is a poor build and probably a guaranteed kill if you play correctly. if someone wants to stay ranged and trade auto attack blows with you, you’ll probably win. so yeah i disagree.

yep. agree, engi’s auto attack is good. but its have only 1000 range (without trait) and other class have more range and can more deal with other skills (2~5) but engi can’t (in long range)
Play Necro, then compare rifle 1 to staff 1. For a long range auto attack, Engi rifle is really good. I use it and ’nades exclusively in LA right now. The added mobility and CC are awesome.
Sd builds have lot’s of ranged attacks, and you only need to invest 10 points to pick up the trait depending on what route you want to go.
there isn’t a single viable build out there that’s 100% focused on long range. so don’t feel too bad we perform better up close.
Just the nature of the Engi design. We’re not made to sit in any one range and attack. Bombs maybe, but face-tanking will get you swatted. We’re built to jump in and out of various ranges, making it harder to pin us down. I like being able to rifle auto and SD and lob some grenades at range and then dive in for a jumpshot > blunderbuss > overcharged.
