scrapper flamethrower build
I have noticed a ton of views but zero feedback, does that mean that it’s so good it’s beyond being meta?
I can see this being decent for soloing open world content, but in any organized group others will might stack for you and FT auto attack is low in comparison to most other options. As for PvP, I feel like this is already a build that is superior with HgH traited as seen in Wolfineers build here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfMXXpwsI0M

Just because the damage number from Flamethrower stack does not mean the DPS is high. You might be under the impression that the dmg number you see if a single tick, but it’s not, it’s the whole channels damage since you did something else. The visual numbers you can get with flamethrower is only limited by the targets healthpool, but that is still just a visual number. Almost every other AA option on the engineer deals more damage over time, the visual numbers are just not added together on other options.

Even with 100% might durration, Mass Momentum and Juggernaut won’t push you past 20 stacks on their own. And even without HgH, getting 25 stacks on flamethrower isn’t that difficult as it is now. Not to forget that flamethrower damage isn’t even that good when you have 25 stacks of might.
First of all, the runes you are using in this build are not available in pvp
Next to that, I honestly dont think condition FT purely isnt that good in PvP. Yes it has nice burning burst, but once cleansed you cant put too much pressure on the enemy.
I think marauder fits this kind of play better, but for PvE it would sure do the job I think
And dont forget, personal preference is really important. For example the Soldier Meta build in PvP on engi doesnt suit me so I dont play it that well, whilst some other build I play well cause I like em
What is the general consense when you go flamethrower – rather power or rather condi damage wheb you go for a more defensive build like knight or dire? The new trait that buffs power based on toughness seems to benefit more the power approach?
Man, FlameThrower Kit needs alot of love…
I’d like to see it as a more viable DPS option without having to rely so heavily on traits.
I was actually thinking of using jugg/mass to build up might and then do a surprise wombo combo in rifle.
I revised my spec to this :
As last time i used rifle as a place holder for hammer, and used a thumper turret in place for a scrapper gyro, also third trait line not in link is scrapper , again with recovery matrix/mass momentum/adaptive armor. It will easily still stack 25 might without using might stacking runes, instead used bal runes it and the thing is wrong flame jet burning is 5 1/4 duration, and removed juggernaut and replaced it with incendiary powder which is 8 secs duration. it can stack 25 stacks of might and will hold on average 4 stacks of burning with bursts upto 15 stacks of burning. really excited about these changes because the damage is like 2350 direct damage/2248 burning off a single flame jet. that is with scrapper traits. also the shredder gyro will be great for napalm+ shredder gyro combo. they have the same length with there cds and almost the same duration too

i personally rather use pistols for a condition build…id probably use the shredder gyro for the whirls in combination with a flame fuild
bombs, grenades and elixir gun are usually well additions to a condition build
