Maradeur for sure. I rarely die with maradeur those days.
depends on enemycomp.
for example: thief,rev or any other classes with heavy directdmg, pala(with final salvo) is the safer way.
On ther other hand, if you face more heavy condi specs like necs,mesmer,condi wars etc. go marauder(adaptive armor)
First option is in my opinion only useful, when you face just one condi spec otherwise i prefer marauder(adaptive) cause you sh#t on every condi spec, which are more potent lately.

I don’t understand why people want the vitality, honestly if some1 could explain?

No need for vitality, enough condi clear and in teamfights I always make sure there’s a healer. At least 70% quickness uptime which besicly can mean an increase of damage by 50%. Yes you are a little squishier since your block and evade also last shorter, but thats honestly the only big difference…
with vitalty it is a little more forgiving . You can make more mistakes .
gonna start the season with this. may flip to marauder against condi heavy comps… but paladin simply cant pressure cleric ele, so i find it unlikely that ill run paladin very often. being a threat while 1v1ing on a node is important to me and im used to marauder from season 2. marauder gives more room for my 25% S proc too, its kind of a toss up between it and demolisher.

Vitality is a extra buffer vs Condi damage, it could give you more time to deal with the source of the conditions or time to get away and heal up.
meta will be my rabid, firearms/alch/scrapper, ham build with FT, EG, and elixr b baby!

3-4 condi players → heal turret / marauder ammy
4 power enemies → medic gyro / demo ammy
the dazes are real with 4 gyros. real ridiculous. in fact, maybe ill try mesmer runes over hoelbrak lmao.

Paladin + Air/Fire sigils with Hoelbrak runes.
I swap between Purge Gyro and Bulwark depending on enemy team comp. Everything else is pretty much the same as last season, except Blast Gyro over Slick Shoes.

Truthfully I think engineer is in a very good spot. With Purge Gyro I can 1v1 condi war and mes pretty OK, but the season is only a couple days old and I might’ve been fighting bad players.
I’ve dabbled with Marauder but I don’t like it as much in 1v1 situations; Paladin also allows you to outlast 1v2s long enough for someone to +1.

as long as you made it to diamond/legend youre fighting the people who also made it there. for the first couple days or so. then the rubys will start to catch up and dilute sapphire out, and all the pros and grinders will leave sapphire.

Must say: I start loving mortar after playing a few rounds with it. Overall it has more damage and also more surviveability but less CC (no blast gyro) and no stealth (stealth gyro) compared with the meta.
What do you guys think?
