skins for kits
Hard to implement, unless they give us a new category in the ward-robe for “bundle-skins” which we can unlock in the gems-store.
But that would be heavily unfair to other classes which are not able to customize their animations (even tho you’re right, our bundle-weapons look like crap)
I mean, how about the following:
Elementalists have just their very hard-to-tell wrist animation and a unique sound/animation when switching attunements.
Also we’ve seen that the syringe bundle for med-kit is also rather small and passive looking.
If we think further in that direction, it would be awesome if we could see our weapons permanently but have a wrist-attached gadget (or full glove) for all our weapon-kits.
FT could get some orange glowing tubes on the wrist, on top of a metal glove that implies that we currently fuel our weapons with napalm. The same skin with green or purple tubes (or both) could work for EG.
For grenades we could get a little dispenser on our wrists where we pick them up and throw them, while still wielding our mainhand-weapon. A similar dispenser could also be used for bombs.
Medkit gets the current syringe wrist-band, and toolkit could get a shiny multi-tool glove that looks like the mechanical hand from engis in TF2 or like a steam-powered fist from Fallout, so its auto-attack animation makes sense.
I know that certain armor skins over-write the skins of shoulders / gloves already (asura cultural t3 light armor f.e.) so making these wrists/gloves overwriting equipped gloves on the right or left hand would solve most (if not all ) clipping issues.
Doing it this way will also solve the 2nd optical problem with engineer kits:
We will finally be able to see our Legendary weapons, along with their aura and footsteps permanently.
And for those who actually love our current bundle-skins, just add a craftable mace with the wrench-skin to the game (in case future specializations will get a mace ), and 2 craftable rifles, where one looks like the flamethrower and the other like the Elixir-Gun.
edit: forgot about the new mortar kit.
A wrist-dispenser with 2-3 bright-colored (maybe yellow, orange or white) mortar-shells could work for this as well.

kits get removed, so don’t bother.

Kit backpacks will, but in the stream we got a preview for a very ugly bundle of grenades, looking like a bunch of … well … ballsacks, and a really ugly upscaled bomb that we wield double-handed instead of the bombkit backpack.
Also TK, FT and EG still overwrite our mainhand weapon-skins with their own (rather boring) bundle-skins, that deactivate legendary auras and footsteps as well.

That would require new animations for each weapon. For example, Flamethrower already uses a rifle, so the transition would be easy if you are using a rifle as your weapon. But shield and pistols need new animations, as your off-hand is occupied, while the upcoming hammer would need to somehow be used as a casting weapon that throws fireballs. And the toolkit uses a unique shield model for skill 4, which requires an empty off-hand.
That’s not very practical and it will happen again in the future if they add a new spec with a new weapon.
Not to mention that having your weapon out without being able to use it would be rather awkward looking.
What can happen, though, (at least I assume so), is make kits stow your main weapon when equipped. So, you can still see it on your back and receive the auras.

Hm, if they need to rework the animations anyways, why not giving us a pose where we lift our arm with the wrist band in the enemy direction and fire our FT / EG like bobba fett does.
It would fit well with the theme of the current kit-skills and we still could hold our rifle / hammer and mainhand pistol down, while the offhand shield and pistol get raised as well, but actually held out of the wrist-FT/EG barrels’ way.
