Guild Wars 2

Im doing this on my phone so I’ll make it quick to save frustration. I msin a thief and guardian for the last year and am getting kinda bored. Iv dabbled with other classes but they don’t really peep my interest engie does had a few questions before I rolled one out though.
~ any know bugged traits I should know of before taking?
~ I see nade builds everywhere, but have trouble finding much on power based builds
~balance? Do you add the engineer community feel your in a good spot ?

1. Turrets will stand out as the most horribly bugged.
2. Aside from nades, rifle works as a power build. Considering tool kit has
perma cripple on auto chain has potential for a power build too.
3. Imo aside from turrets, ft and lack of gadget traits, we are definitely in a good spot.

1. I wouldn’t call turrets completely bugged (though there are some bugs) but just the weakest utility skill type we have. Despite the numerous traits, their major glaring weakness is that they’re stationary and easily killed. They could become very strong if fixed, but as they are now you can only get one shot out of them reliably.

2. I think your trouble finding specific builds listed stems from the fact that Engi have such wide build variety. It’s part of the charm, and experimentation is encouraged. There is no meta exactly, just general ideas which will guide you.

3. Yes, I think we’re quite balanced. We’re more than viable in every aspect of the game, and quite strong in many of them.

A metaless class? Why didn’t I make one earlier, after looking around more the amount of builds are incredible. I played a few hours as a condi bunker build and was having a blast it’s allot of skills to learn and combos though. As confused as I still am with this character I am sold on leveling after some pvp today, thank you all four your help I’m sure I’ll be back later with more questions

Don’t be fooled, Grenadier is the Engi meta.

That’s not to say there are no other good builds you could run, but that’s not what meta means anyways.

Kinda played with naded and idk wasnt a huge fan mostly due to my bindings probably, but it just felt strained to use and still move in combat.

try static discharge for targetted dps
bombs is good for aoe on the run
grenades is more of a support weapon if you got team mates locking enemies for you their damage is no joke though great thing of grenades is they benefit from both power and condi damage so on a pure condi build you can have 15-20 bleeds burning 15-20 vuln poison at almost 100% uptime

can always try cleric elixir infused bomb bunker build

Probably in spvp there is. In wvw not so much, people will just slap on some utilities and call it a day
