I like the gyros, on paper they are brilliant (flying drones that help you and your allies), I love that the function gyro follows you around and revives allies.

On execution they are good, but can sadly be replaced by other skills. such as Medic gyro-healing turret, blast gyro-big ol’ bomb, shredder gyro-…….pistols

Would people be ok with gyors being our next elite spec mechanic but instead of temporary allies,they be signets? or something else?

im with furajir. gyros are quickly becoming my favorite toys.

I dont agree with this. are they similar? yeah of course they are. a heal is a heal damage is damage. but to say they are the same or can be easily replaced is not being fair at all.

Heal turret can not compete with medic gyro when hammer and finale salvo trait are in tow. big ol bomb hits like a truck and so does blast gyro. stationary vs moving damage here. shreder gyro. well ok i’ll give you this one.. Its just kitten and i can not figure it out. again only use i have for shreder is finale salvo short timer static bot.
they are completely different flavors and style and with the synergy between wep/spec/skills that engineer finally have they are down rite devastating when used rite.

Gyros are fun and it is a nice concept. But I wouldn’t like to see gyros for the next elite spec again.

The scrapper focuses thematically on eletric and mechanic. So these aspects of the engineer are served (just like the druid serves the nature magic aspect of rangers). For the next elite spec I would like to see focus on the alchemical aspect of engineers. But this time more in direction of dangerous chemicals like acids, gas and these stuff.

Gyros are nice and cover their function (they are minion type skill – like guard weapons or necro minions or ele elementals). You call them, they hang out a while and blow up.
I’d love to see the shredder have a rework, yes (maybe follow you around and/or reflect projectiles?) but don’t go well with signet type of skill…

Our gadgets don’t really fill the role either, they are (or should be) more like physical skills, short CD small effect skills (blocks, stun breaks, CC, etc).

For engi signets, would be nice to have “bionics”, inventions that you use to improve yourself with passive effects and can overcharge for a great result, loosing the passive bonus on CD, as signets do. Weapon of the Espec could be sword. We need another main hand weapon, power based.

A bionic, sword wielding engineer… Not bad for a concept

So you want to be a cyborg looking guardian, but with kits too…… let’s give us a teleport, second health bar, and weapon swap too!

Scrapper is op. Every gyro, minus shredder, is situationally op and generally viable overall. The required skill cap of when and where to activate each gyro in different terrains is the ‘hard part’. Adapt and overcome, it’s not the class’ error. Anyone not able to carry more often than not using scrapper is experiencing operator error.

So a couple weeks ago I saw you post about Blast Gyro and thought “This dude is an idiot.” I was wrong, I tried it and you have now converted me to the cult of the Blast Gyro. It wrecks people so hard in PvP and I love it.

Floating shiny thing-this is my most famous utility in spvp. This one was be my ticket to legendary div. This thing decap bunker tempests. I am gyro hater, but dmg/heal(final salvo+rapid regen) /cc/boon /15sec cd -in one utility is really OP.

And stun break yea, just awesome.

I listened to Basz as well and switched from slick shoes to blast gyro and love it!!!. It hits so hard, low CD (less than half the cd of slickshoes) and with Final Salvo its just pure FUN!!!

At point blank melee range enemy never sees it. Thumbs Up Basz!

ok on topic. In answer to your question. No i wouldn’t want gyros to be part of a new elite spec. i would prefer it to be completely new.

If any elite spec ever just reuses the same utility type as a previous one I’ll be hugely disappointing. New elite specs are supposed to be just that, new. If the utilities need to be fixed, fix them with the current spec, don’t rehash the same concept just to “fix” them.

Could be like guardian spirit weapons.

No stat scaling at all, horrible uptime vs downtime, horrible AI etc…
