[1v1] Ultimate Burning Build
Wouldn’t sword/torch be a bit better swap than scepter twice? Scepter is nice and all, but sword has good burst thanks to 3 and its auto chain is certain to get one proc of burning in melee. Not to mention, extra 3 seconds of blocking ranged junk means less horrible death from afar. Just my opinion though, still would need to test it for a while.
I do alot more than 1v1 with this build using sword/torch, mace/focus and most importantly, Celestial Amulet!
Used to run it, exellent in duels. Until you run into a skilled ele, or until you have to fight a bunker, then it fails. Simply the fact that you cannot sustain multiple conditions reliably on kiting classes makes it so that you’re reliant upon direct damage against them.
run it also and had much success (prefer the carrion over celestial – more power and more condition dmg)
regarding bunker they only thing they can do is to run
ele can be hard as they can cleanse easily and break fight fast but are doable
Hey just wanted to throw in my 2 cents on this build and burning Guardians in general I guess. I’ve only ran this in hot join (probably wouldn’t work in more organized tpvp) and I’m by no means an expert at all, but I’ve been playing around with a bunch of different builds and classes this past week and I gotta say, this is one of the more powerful builds I have tried.
It has a lot of survivability and there are 5 ways to burn someone. Judges Intervention, Purging Flame, Shield of Wrath (on block), Zealots Flame, and Virtue of Justice. You don’t want to use all of them at the same time though, you have to wait till they use a cleanse before you apply another one. But you should be able to constantly keep them on fire. It’s kinda neat since Shield of Wrath and Purging Flame are both offensive and defensive skills in this case.
I use a sword instead of a second scepter though and with the number 2 and Judges Intervention that’s 2 blinks so it’s pretty easy to close the gap and keep up constant pressure.
Better yet, most of the ways you’ll be burning are aoe and the build actually does pretty well when outnumbered. Many times I’d get jumped by 2 or 3 enemies and notice that I’d often down someone who I wasn’t even aiming at just through the aoe burns.
I just returned to the game after about a year off, so like I said I’m not super knowledgeable about theory crafting. But this build is actually a lot of fun to play with and I seem to do pretty well with it. I was hesitant at first but I’m glad I gave it a shot.

Ugh. no.
First off, if you are running that build you NEED to run GS for 2 reasons.
1) Binding blades counts as a condition, and cannot be removed unless the target moves out of range, this bypasses all condition immunity as well (such as zerker stance)
2) Zealous blade is a HUGE help to this build to get extra healing, and a bit of extra damage.
Second, What is with shimmering defense, we already have really good burning application, what is the point of another that only activates at low health. Switch it out for inner fire for extra crit chance, or just drop the points there and put into virtues for the extra prot/might/regen.

Have had very little issues with warriors with a similar build even with zerker stance. Just means you save the condi burst for after when you know they don’t have the immunity.

1v1 the burning builds are very strong as they put passive and active pressure
till now my main problem is i cant rush after running enemy so i call it a win
and some bunker ele or conditions necro but all other melee classes just literally melting
