Guild Wars 2

As guardian i have some trouble beating phantasmal mesmer that use sword/X and staff. Had no problem when they run greatsword but if they swich to staff … that just kill me. I also tried killing phantasmals first but didnt work. So here i ask if you know any build or gear or tactic that could help me do the work (in tPvP ofc).
The other one is trap ranger, tho i run many condition removal their dmg is just better then mine and if i use melee attacks i step into traps and if i use range (scepter) than his damage is just higher than mine and finish me faster.

Any tip regarding those two is apreciated.

not easy to 1v1 on guardian unless you were planning for it. usually guards run AH, and thats pretty useless in a 1v1 scenario. i havent had much experience with it, but theres a tricky build out there that involves full zerker gear with greatsword/sword focus, also uses monks focus with meditations for heals. that monks focus thing heals tons…. though if you’re not used to playing zerker guard, you’ll probably die a lot. needs lots of getting used to. you could probably pull it off with PVT gear, it really depends on what your opponent is running. bottom line is guardian isnt the ideal class for 1v1…

Mesmers are probably impossible unless you’re incredibly more skilled than them. For trap rangers you can try to dodge the traps if you see where he lays them, very similar to necromancer marks.

You will mostly need a LOT of vigor to keep dodging a Mesmer. Constantly moving is key. Honestly a Mesmer is the only class I feel is almost impossible to kill 1v1 if they know what they are doing.

For a ranger you just need to CC the crap out of him and control the fight. That would work on Mesmer if they didn’t have so many freaking stun breakers.
